East Tennessee Weather II

And as soon as it came, now it’s gone. Here in Knoxville we had about an inch for about two hours. Maybe the next storm will bring something of measure
 
Pretty good snowfall this morning in northwest GA. At least 3 inches, but it didn’t last and by the time I left work at 6pm it was sunny and dry.

..FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY
EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a

* Flood Watch for portions of southwest North Carolina and east
Tennessee, including the following areas, in southwest North
Carolina, Cherokee and Clay. In east Tennessee, Bledsoe,
Blount Smoky Mountains, Bradley, Cocke Smoky Mountains, East
Polk, Hamilton, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn,
Meigs, North Sevier, Northwest Blount, Northwest Cocke,
Northwest Monroe, Rhea, Roane, Sequatchie, Sevier Smoky
Mountains, Southeast Monroe, and West Polk.

* From Monday morning through Tuesday evening

* Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* This amount of rainfall could cause flooding. People in the
watch area should be aware of the possibility of heavy rainfall.
Avoid low lying areas...and be careful when approaching highway
dips and underpasses.
 
Hope Knox Co. Schools is smarter this time if it begins flooding.

I doubt that after seeing their excuse for why schools weren’t closed the other day. “We can’t control the weather!” and “We checked the road conditions at 6 am and found that only 5% of roads were flooded, so we decided that wasn’t severe enough to close schools.”
