Still need to keep an eye out for Ice. It doesn't take much freezing rain to cause problems on roads and potentially knock out power.

The concrete at my apartment complex has ice on it already. Not sure what to expect overnight.

Oh..mine was clear today before the snow started. It got just enough sun to melt it yesterday. There were a lot of places in the yard that still had a inch or two.

my place was still covered in snow, which is due to a lack of sunshine,I mad a run to the convince store today,I had to slide out of the drive way and the road was starting to turn white just a little, that was around 11am this morning, went there and they were out of eggs and bread, but they did have Beer so it wasn't a wasted trip

I would have went to the grocery store, but they were saying the snow would start around 1pm so I didn't take the time to drive into Morristown

Yeah, I saw that. I'm worried that we might be getting more than that. The fact that it's colder now than what was expected concerns me when the heavier precipitation rolls in.

Does it look like that snow line will stay a little south of us here in Harlan county? If it sleets now it is going to be a mess. The roads have a lot of snow and there are still a ton of idiots out on the hwy. These steep runs combined with these rock walls right up to the road, are unforgiving of stupidity.

The snow line will eventually move up towards you in the morning.

Couple of questions, is there still a chance Knoxville sees any snow accumulation at all? And are you leaning towards ice or no ice as of right now?

I want to have an idea of what I can expect for tomorrow.

Lots of precip to our west..when will that get here and will it be frozen? Temps definitely lower than forecasted

Does anyone remember the storm this time last year? Before that storm, we thought we were going to see significant amounts of snow. Instead, we got a Significant amount of Freezing Rain and Ice.Knoxville got close to a half inch of ice, while some areas in the Plateau saw almost an inch.

We could still see some snow because of the temps, but my confidence is very low on that. My confidence is growing that we could see some freezing rain and Ice.

WBIR says that we will see more frozed precip after 10pm..so hold on folks this might get messy

Todd Howell showed .05 to .20 of ice for knoxville. Also said .20 to .30 North of knox. Which included West to Crossville and East to Morristown.

David Aldrich said with the valley effect the cold air would get trapped and be around longer in the valley before the warm finally pushes it out tomorrow.

This is what I was thinking earlier when the moisture started being pulled into this system in west Tennessee. The only question I had was if the temps would support frozen precip. Looks like that is very likely. Could get interesting...

Something I noticed watching the radar just now the rain in Cookeville turned back to snow.

Would 0.1-0.2" of ice cause the roads to be bad?

The flow seemed to change and is now moving SE out of KY..how and why I don't know but it's possible around 10pm the central valley might just pick up a couple of inches of snow!
