If you guys are wondering why I'm not posting model runs right now, it's because there's nothing to post at this time. Right now, it's a rain event.

For the life of me I can't figure out why VK isn't posting any model runs.

Looking at the 18z GFS, there's a potential for Severe Thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon/evening, then a changeover to snow showers/flurries on the back side Thursday morning.

Question for you guys..I remember in college the geography prof telling us that ET was a temperate climate because we didn't average 50 degrees all 12 months(January) but I've seen some site that lists us as sub-tropical. Has the climate criteria changed since I was in college?

It's considered temperate but the topography allows for a wider range of climate changes.

Sorry I haven't been posting much guys. I have been pulling a lot of hours to pay off my Nana's headstone.

It's alright, RT. Me and JC have held down the fort, lol.

Speaking of which, does anyone know what happened to Falco? He hasn't posted on here in a very long time.

Even though there's little to no Tornado threat, there's still a risk for Damaging winds. I'm concerned about where the line of storms will be coming from. Instead of coming from the Plateau, it will be coming from the southeast and going northeast up the valley.

Update:

The southern valley is now under a marginal risk for Strong to Severe thunderstorms. Scattered damaging winds up to 60 mph and flooding will be the main concerns. An isolated Tornado or 2 can't be ruled out, as wind shear is pretty strong.

As for the rest of East Tennessee, the threat for Severe Thunderstorms will be slim to none. These areas could still see an isolated damaging wind gust with the strongest thunderstorms. Flooding threat will also be more localized in these areas.

I'm wondering how the ground being saturated along with the combination of upcoming winds gusts will play out. Two full days of rain hitting before wind gusts is never good.
