The short term? Isn't the cold officially done?

When I was at UT (spring of 2000?), we had some warm weather in March and it snowed April 1. I remember walking to class in it. Obviously, it didn't stick or last long, but East TN can have some strange weather.

Unrelated to East TN but record setting flooding in Memphis right now. 8 inches of rain already with more to come

your close about the sunlight,I'm facing dead north and don't get hardly any sun light in the winter

I'm in a hollar with steep ridges, from about 10:30 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon is all the sun I get, during the short sunlight days of winter

Severe Weather Bulletin:

On Sunday, there's a slight risk for Strong to Severe storms in southwestern West Tennessee (includes the areas in and around Memphis), with a marginal risk for the rest of West Tennessee. Damaging winds will be the primary threat, with large hail and an isolated tornado also possible.

On Monday, there's a Marginal risk for isolated Strong to Severe thunderstorms for most of East TN (except extreme Southeastern TN, including Chattanooga). Localized damaging winds and large hail are the primary threats.

it sounds rough VolGee,that is a load of water

Yep. Last Wednesday through Friday, Germantown got just over 10 inches. We got another few hours of hard rain yesterday afternoon. We hit a reprieve of sun today but another round of strong rain is soon coming. Probably close to 12+ inches in 5 days.

The Wolf River, which runs through Germantown and Memphis, is a tributary to the Mississippi River. Nothing serious, but it crested today, and has flooded some ball fields, the back of a golf course, and a park. It is close to reaching a road.

when is it suppose to crest ? and how high will it flood ?

It was supposed to crest sometime yesterday, and then we got another hard rain last night. Not sure how high. I have seen it at street level one other time a few years ago (2011?) when Memphis had a record flood. That year, the Mississippi flooded parts of Riverside Drive where Beale Street starts.
