My friend's aunt traveled to Charleston from Knoxville yesterday to visit family. They're supposed to come back Saturday and that's likely not happening especially since that drive takes you through the mountains and NC.

I-26 no doubt will be a mess north of Columbia up through the NC mountains. Have you seen the lows for Saturday and Sunday night? Here in Spartanburg it will be around 15 so everything will freeze. Will be interesting to see what happens since we are so easily overwhelmed down here when it snows.

The band this morning isn't suppose to be as intense as we thought.

I expect it to start snowing in the next hour or two and not tapering off until Saturday morning. Snow totals will rise imo.

The Winter Weather Advisory was supposed to go to in effect this evening at 7:00 EST, but MRX has decided to put the advisory in effect starting now. This current band is snow is apparently doing much better than they originally thought it would.
