Picture is from The Cove at Concord Park, about half a mile from the subdivision you mentioned. The guys working there this morning said there might be upwards of 100 trees down just in the park. It might not have been an actual tornado, but the damage sure looks eerily similar to tornado damage.

My buddy sent some pictures off of Choto, big bradford pears snapped off at the ground. I know those are weak trees but that takes incredible force to snap a mature tree at ground level and blow it down the road. Rural Metro says 100+mph downbursts in the area.

Those are the most dangerous, weakest trees. The only good Bradford pear is a dead one.

An official statement from the national weather service in Morristown on the storms has come out. The line that moved through Saturday evening was a Derecho. Based on the damages, the winds were estimated to be between 70-80 mph. They can also confirm that while there was weak rotation in parts of the Derecho, there was no tornadoes.

At 444 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Knoxville, moving southeast at 5 mph.

Torrential rain, winds in excess of 40 mph, and dime sized hail will
be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Knoxville, Alcoa, Lake Forest, Bearden, Kimberlin Heights and
Seymour.
 
The one that went through around 3pm-ish was fantastic if you like thunder. That thing lasted a good half hour. BOOM!
 
~Severe Weather Bulletin~

There's a Slight risk for strong to severe thunderstorms overnight for areas North and Northwest of Knoxville (Oak Ridge, La Follette, Oneida, Jamestown, ect), while everyone else is under a marginal risk.

Primary threats:

1. Damaging winds in excess of 60 mph
2. Due to the high amount of moisture, localized flooding is possible.
3. Large hail up to quarter size is unlikely, but can't rule it out.

Timing:

Late afternoon into Monday. It'll be on and off storms.

MONDAY AFTERNOON...

The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of East Tennessee and Southwest
Virginia, including the following areas, in East Tennessee,
Anderson, Campbell, Claiborne, Hancock, Morgan, Scott TN, and
Union. In Southwest Virginia, Lee and Wise.

* From midnight EDT tonight through Monday afternoon

* Thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall at times, which may
lead to flash flooding of creeks and streams.

* If flooding is observed, avoid low lying areas, and be careful
when approaching highway dips and underpasses. If you come to a
closed or flooded road, turn around! Don`t drown!
 
Update:

The Flash Flood Watch that was in effect for Northern and Western portions of East TN has been canceled very early. There's still a possibility of seeing localized flooding in any of the stronger storms.
 
~Tropical Weather Alert~

The remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy will affect all of East TN tonight into early Saturday.

Primary threats:

1. Localized flash flooding is the biggest threat. Most areas will see anywhere from 1-4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible.

2. Damaging winds in excess of 60 mph is expected with storms that reach severe levels, with an isolated tornado or 2 also possible. The severe threat will be greatest on Friday.

A Tornado Watch has been issued for the western half of East TN until 9:00 PM EST.
