eBook readers

I've tried, but I just really enjoy paper. Plus, I can share good books with friends or make notes in them if I like.

I tried reading on my wife's Nook Glowlight but i did not like it. Are the Kindles better and which would you recommend?

Also should add that I don't need one that plays games and such. I have an iPad, was just looking for a light reader for books.

Agreed. The feel, note taking ability (in the margins), being able to highlight, ability to flip/find a particular page/passage very quickly, and just the aesthetics of books on a bookshelf can't be duplicated.

I have the Kindle Paperwhite. It's a good reader if you're loking for something that's backlit other than a typical LCD display.

His may have been discussed but you can checkout kindle books through your library, in many cases.

Also, if you have Amazon prime you can download a book a month for free.

How?

Cool. Let us know how you like it.

So far it's awesome. Still learning how to use all the functions, but reading on it is nice. I like the ease of adjusting the brightness when going from light to dark setting. I also bought the Amazon kindle leather case for it and that makes it feel more like a book.

If you don't mind my asking, what are you reading?

Looking to upgrade from my gen 1 Nook to something with color and a larger screen. Do Kindles still use a proprietary format?
