Edward Snowden: American Hero

He is 100% a hero. He risked his life so that the American people would know that the U.S. Government was illegally spying on us.

What's sad is that you're convinced that the government has the right to keep any information sealed for whatever reason they see fit. And if someone releases that information (even if they release information showing you how hard the government is ****ing you), you actually go as far blaming the whistle blower and not the government.

Wtf?

If he shared any info with another gov't....he is a traitor and deserves death.

When Russia acquires DoD secrets, what evidence do people usually see of it? Do they disclose the goods on Russian TV?

Well, if we had operatives die we would know if Snowden knew about them or if it was part of the information leaked. Seems like we could figure it out, right?

Those calling Snowden a hero has a different definition of the word hero than I do.
He fits the definition of the word traitor.

He is in no sense of the word a hero, he isn't even someone to be admired imo. However I'm not ready to classify him as a traitor yet. Traitor is a very serious adjective.

This makes no sense to me. The government has every incentive to make him seem like a villain. The egg is already on their face.

Huff, you seem like a rather intelligent man.

How you're unable to connect the dots between defect from Washington to Moscow via Beijing, however, is beyond me.

You apparently have far more trust in our fellow men than I do.

Anyone that is trusted with, then leaks sensitive government information is a traitor, imo.

He's a traitor.

Works for the Russian SVR. Has been for some time.

So far I keep getting prove correct more and more on this thread.

Eventually the fact that he's been a SVR agent all along will come out as well.

Just a matter of time.

Do you knows he works for the Russians or have you been watching too many episodes of "The Blacklist" ?

I would not be surprised if he were working for Russia. I don't believe for a second Putin is letting him stay there out of the kindness of his heart.

You very well may be correct and then he would be 100% traitor in my eyes.

See bolded

Also an illegal contract is not the same as seeing something illegal while being under a NDA. Noticing something illegal while being under a NDA does not make the NDA illegal.

If a contract is related to illegal activity it makes the contract void.

For example I can't kill someone and have you sign a NDA if you witness it. Our contract would be void because it's based in illegal activity.

Why would the same rule not apply here?

i know that at least since he has been over there he has been working with Russian intelligence.

He's a hero for protecting freedom.

Vol8188, I understand why you want to believe in Snowden. As far as you're concerned, he did a good thing, and our govt. is the boogeyman.

I get all that.

You need to understand, however, that things like this don't just happen. They need major (MAJOR) incentivizing.

Now where would you reckon that incentivizing initiated at?

And by "where," I mean Russia and the FSB/SVR.

I'm sorry, but your hero is actually a zero.

You'll understand eventually.

That sounds like the story the government wants you to believe. If he were so concerned with providing Russia with such important information, where is it? Why is it the main thing he disclosed was that the government was ****ing us?

Also Russia wasn't his intial destination.

And more importantly, where's the outrage for the government in all of this.

He probably had no choice if he did.

Buddy, I'm going to tell you something right now, and it will hurt:

If you want to continue to be taken seriously (by posters like me, at least) in the anti-God, anti-religion threads, you're going to need to step up your game here.

If you seriously think Snowden is this infallible and noble of a human being, who then just decides to spend the rest of his life in a country that treats people even more like **** than we do, I don't know what to tell you.

Step up your game, son.

I've tried to be polite, but are you ****ing stupid or something?

Your post here may be the dumbest in VolNation Politics Forum history.
