1. He would have been arrested if he worked in the U.S. Or extradited and then arested depending on what country he went to. hm he seems to be doing alright in RUSSIA. could have found a job there, or China who doesn't extradite at all and it is pretty clearly against the US
2. Write a book in the U.S.? See part 1. he has to write this book in the US? seems like he could do this anywhere
3. See part 1. plenty of countries that don't like the US. and he has said himself he doesn't want to deal with the mess he made. after he blew the whistle the government couldn't have made him disappear we would have heard about it. so either they disappear him and look even worse or the look contrite and hire him to fix it.
4. See part 1. good thing the US is the only country in the world where you can get a job, buy a home and try to live your life.
Seriously, how can you believe any of those to be viable options?
Two separate issues...............I agree that there should be more outrage with NSA and hopefully we will see something there, but this doesnt make Snowden a hero IMOSo, what's going to happen to them? Is there a trial starting soon that I can tune into?
Many of you have called for snowdens head, meanwhile the real enemy still goes to work each day, still makes a couple hundred grand a year, and no one can even name him.
But we all know who Snowden is. Surely you can see the issue here? Where is the public outrage for the elected officials? It's not there.
The word treason is rooted in the word treachery or to betray. By that definition this fits. The government betrayed both the constitution and the people.
The legal definition I have a problem with because it . essentially leaves out the possibility of treason on behalf of the government against the peopleWhich is exactly what occurred here. They betrayed the people and the constitution. You could even agree that for the "waging war" and "aiding enemies" portions of the legal definition. Because the iinformation they collected was used to illegally convict US citizens of crimes.
that number is outrageous but consider the operatives and etc. that may have been exposed.....the guy is a coward for running if he truly believed what he was doing to be noble
You were sure pumped up about the constitution yesterday, what happened?
Nah, killing innocents isn't a war crime at all. It's done with such regularity now I guess it's considered old hat huh?
I do believe in the constitution, fully. If Snowden would have went about exposing the NSA through proper channels or heck even just through US media and NOT given info to Russia and China I would be in full support of him. If I was on his jury, I wouldn't vote to convict.
And yeah, I'm not that worried about collateral damage when trying to win a war. War is anarchy you know.
I have no clue what you're complaining about. You're upset that he doesn't have a job that you know of in Russia? Who says he's not working and that he's not writing a book?
I don't understand.
