Edwin Herbert is a 4* at JC Football the 9th DT in JC Rankings. Never been in trouble, clearing house eligible. Plans to come to Tenn in Jan. 09. Will play 4 CCSF this year(Soph.). He is a team captain for the defending JC national champs. He is strong and anxious to get to UTenn. & the SEC. I know him and now I have to change my team. I am an Arkansas fan for 1 more season(although Tenn has always been my SEC east favorite.

That's what I figured. We also have Arian Foster and Chris Walker's mothers on here. Oh, and you might want to go ahead and learn Rocky Top. You'll be singing it 1.5 million times.

I do know it !!! I have heard several times for the wrong reasons (Arkansas losses) but I am OK now! From this point on I will cheer for Tenn for all the games (even against the hogs)! I do love SEC football!! Y'all need to sneek-up on UGA(Ithink they are over rated and they are all starting to get arrested).

Welcome to the Vol nation!

On a sidenote, Gerald Williams a teammate of Edwins at CCSF, was asked about Edwin, and he said that Edwin was a beast! He thinks he'll be able to come in this spring and contribute immediately. GW will be playing directly behind Edwin for the next couple of years so i'm glad to see the respect and confidence already there.

Fulmer always says he doesn't recruit JUCO players to sit on the bench for a year, he expects them to contribute immediately, which is why he rarely recruits JUCO's.

I for one am excited about the idea of replenishing our DT rotation with Edwin and hopefully Akiem Hicks as well.

Congrats to your son and welcome to VN. Glad to have you guys in orange. Edwin is going to help ease a lot of concerns and has some impressive stats. When the negativity starts flying this fall just remember that most UT fans are good, respectful people who are just passionate about winning.

It is TRUE he has worked on his 40 very hard. But he does everything 110%. I told him when he was being recruited in high school that the SEC would call if he ran under 5.0. I have been an SEC and Arkansas fan all my life(UT has ALWAYS been my east team). He worked hard got his time down and now I am a UT fan! He knows what the SEC stands for and I am confident he will win y'all over! Thanks for all the nice comments!

I have been an Arkansas fan for a long time(Ilive there,we have no franchises), And I believe that no matter how bad it gets it cannot be worse than the Arkansas fans who think they can ACTUALLY COMPETE in the SEC. Auburn had two first round running backs and went UNDEFEATED! Let's hope Fulmer gets the most from his players!!!

Just curious ecdad... What was it that sold him on the orange having so much hawg blood running through his veins? Just like to know how he was sold on the program. Don't get me wrong I'm overjoyed at his decision. Plan on coming to any games this year? If so I'd love to buy you a beer or your preferred beverage.

Amen to that! I truly believe that the Claw, Lattrell Scott and Stan Drayton are going to help ensure we get the most out of the offense and that will hopefully carry over to the D. I agree that it is a shame that Arkansas did not achieve more with having 2 potential NFL stars at RB, a dominant O-line and their ability to man up in the secondary. Unfortunately, they didn't recruit any other playmakers to go along with RunDMC and Felix the Cat and were too one-dimensional. Monk was a threat but was injured a lot and opposing secondaries knew he was the only downfield option.

On another note, I am extremely excited to see your son line up next to B. Martin, D. Langley, Cory Hall and possibly Rae Sykes and Marlon Walls. A lot of people are worried about the DL but I am excited to see a lot of athleticism at those positions the next few years. I'd love to see that rotation especially if we can also get Hicks this year. :eek:k:
