He's become one of the quickest rising prospects on many BCS programs' wish lists and because of that CCSF DT Edwin Herbert (6-3.5, 295) has decided to re-open his recruiting. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented run-stuffer and he updated us on his most recent offers and which school he'll be visiting this weekend...

"For a while I didn't know who the coach was going to be," Herbert said. "I just wanted to have a back up plan. I thought I should put myself in a position to not get screwed over."

So now that Tennessee has a head coach, does Herbert still consider himself a Vol commitment?

"Yes and no," Herbert said. "I have a great relationship with coach Adkins. I just feel like I need to start a relationship with coach Kiffin and get to know him before I can say that Tennessee is the right fit for sure."

"I think it's pretty special," Herbert said. "Especially with the defensive coordinator they are bringing in. I want to talk with coach Kiffin and find out what his plan is and get to know him."

"Coach Adkins is flying down Thursday," Herbert said. "I really hope they keep him. Every since I met him, he's been kind. He makes sure to look out for my best interest. He makes sure I'm well informed. Whatever he knows, I know."

No doubt. After going through this season with so much unknown, the addition of Monte to this staff will certainly help us, in so many areas. I think we will see a couple of big time defensive recruits start sniffing around very soon. Hopefully a couple of DT's.

hopefully a couple Haynesworth, Henderson, and Al Wilson types!

I think Kiffin would know if his dad is really coming or not..
i mean he's his son ! lol

he definately knows that his dad is coming especially if he is telling recruits this.. he wouldn't wanna lie his first days on the job and get a bad rep forever
