We sure shouldn't. Harden those targets. One way in, one way out with metal detectors and a bullet proof plexi glass box everyone has to pass through. Detector goes off and that person is locked in until an ARMED guard behind the glass approves of their entry. Arm teachers as well.

Guy I worked with for over 20 years now almost never qualifies w/ his duty sidearm first time around. Back in ‘05 he got into an OIS after a chase. Suspect leveled off on him with a 30-30.

He put 4 rounds you could cover with a coffee saucer center mass, in under 2 seconds (by video). DRT.

So yeah, you just never know.

I must say this kid has inspired me. I wasn’t exposed to many guns growing up. Single mom household. She’s not anti-gun, just hesitant. Anyway, I purchased a Glock several years back. Attended a gun safety class. Spent hours and hours at the range and eventually I carried daily.

Fell asleep the last few years though. Stopped training. Not carrying for the most part. What this kid did should be a wake up call to us all. It certainly has been for me.

Turned 45 couple months ago. Think NEO is about same age as us. Cool. Always interested in views of folks the same age as me, because i feel like they grew up in the exact same version of America that i did. Things have changed (deteriorated) so quickly in our lifetime that 5 years difference in either direction can mean a different set of circumstances a person dealt with growing up. Adoption of cellphones, internet, social media etc meant big changes in how people experienced their teen years etc. I had a pager in HS for example...bc cellphones were not accessible really yet. We stopped at payphones to return a page lol. A person 5 years younger than me never lived that way. Go VOLS
