TigerVol did you use to have a different name?

I thought I knew the few people to laugh at most on this board including Lofton4Three (now NYYVol), LawVol etc. Ridethelightening hates my guts because I pointed out he is a classless lech who turns around and uses the 1s he gets at his job at the Mouses ear.

Somehow I think I missed your SN name change from someone I used to laugh about misusing the English language into your current name.

Me - doesn't take time to spell-check posts.

MHF - spends hours putting together ridiculous and pointless posts that make no sense and then brags to no end when one of his predictions somehow reaches the same time zone of being true.

I think I'm still doing ok.

unless we win a championship we shouldn't get rings. even if the farthest we've gone in the tournament. no championship, no ring. period.

1. I'm don't use spell-check on this computer.

2. I'm laughing at the notion at an Elite 8 or division title being worthy enough for rings and will continue to do so.

3. I've been a Cardinals fan for much longer than TLR has been there and will be long after he is gone.

4. Because of Freak's emphasis on keeping boards civil I will refrain from posting my true thoughts about you.

I would say that they did this because it was the first time we ever made it to the Elite 8. So, I would say that Florida didnt make a ring last year, as it wasnt a first and neither did UK.

There's no reason to be rude about it though. The team just wants to celebrate a first time Elite 8 birth.

Give'em a break.

I disagree. You celebrate championships with rings not losses.

What? That makes no sense. Of course you don't celebrate championships with losses. I think you meant you have rings for championships and not losses.

Also, that means every college football team except one each year shouldn't have rings. Well guess what, you get rings for pretty much winning any bowl.

Yea, conference championships really aren't championships. Great point.

The point Lawvol is making is the key word is "winning".

No doubt about the banner. We need some kind of banner to rival all the Lady Vol Championship banners. Looks bad for recruiting when there are no men banners.

No, they did not make elite 8 rings last year. what they did do however, was also inscribe their elite 8 appearance on their SEC Championship rings. You can see it at the top and bottom of the ring.

However, they would not have made rings specifically for the elite 8. The SEC rings gave them the opportunity to add that in there.

Magical run last year. Set a new standard for other teams to strive for. What a great tournament!

Why? Its not as "Flashy"?

Its basicaly the same thing. If you are going to put a banner up, give the guys a ring.

Banners signify accomplishments. Rings signify major accomplishments.

Should we give the team a ring if we make the NIT? They have a banner up for NIT teams.

So a C-USA championship is worthy enough for a ring, but making an Elite 8 is not? Good point!

Yes. If you are C-USA champion, you are a champion. If you get beat in the round of 8, you are not.

Rings signify championships, or at least they should.

Yea sure, I dont have a problem with the guys getting NIT rings

Whats the problem with rewarding the guys? They do a lot for the university and dont get paid, so a ring for whatever accomplishment is fine by me

So going to the Elite 8 for the 1st time in UT mens B-ball history isnt a Major accomplishment?

If you win a championship, you should get a ring. Being eliminated from a tournament isn't a reason to get rings. Should we be proud of it? Sure. Should we pretend like it's a championship? No.
