I think you should get one. Then you will have as many championships as UT had last season.

Sorry, but I dont wear jewelry

If you win a championship, you should get a ring. Being eliminated from a tournament isn't a reason to get rings. Should we be proud of it? Sure. Should we pretend like it's a championship? No.

Should the guys be rewarded for going to the Elite 8? Yes

don't believe anyone is pretending to think its a championship. it's the norm to have rings made. i'm disappoint in some peoples knowledge of college athletics

:eek:k:

I can appreciate a fine run through the tournament and a good season. I'm opposed to sporting a trophy for almost winning.

Its not a trophy, its a ring, that you will most likely never see. So why does it upset you so much? Is it too "Flashy"?

That's exactly what's being done. Rings are synonymous with championships not celebrating being eliminated.

Because we are acting like it's a championship? I'm sure those guys said, "We have done got our rings, might as well not make the final 4."

Rings signify things other than just championships. I would venture to guess that Duke's bling is a whole lot more nice than ours.

i understand, and i guess there is a case to be made. ex. whatever bracket you win to get to the elite 8, technically you are the champion. you'll hear the announcers say "Winning the midwest", etc.

You are a round early. The regional champion goes to the final four.

Apparently you do since you are so pissed at this idea.

And you wonder why people think you're an idiot on here. How in the Hell is it relevant to this conversation whether Butler bought a rings to play "champions" or not?

Who said anything about being ashamed?

I said rings should reward championships.

Yes, taking his example, buying rings for losses would be akin to buying a gold medal while you're in second place.

No one is playing champions. Who is the idiot? One saying a CUSA championship is worthy of a ring while a Elite 8 is not.
