We are the 5th ranked team in the SEC (11 spots ahead of #81 Ole Miss). AGain, depending on how much the committee puts into the teams play in the last 10 games (won 8 of 10), we still might have a shot at the NCAA tourney.:clapping:

Stealing this from one of Bleeding Orange's posts:

Everything I heard said committee is gonna go:

1. Kenpom
2. BPI
3. RPI

and using RPI as little as possible. I this is true our chanes increase.

How did Butler going to the title game two years in a row help them out this year?

It's completely raise the profile of the program, bring in enough money to sign their coach, and brought a lot of attention/money for the school.

I do get what you are saying though.

Cool for now 50/50. Unfortunately if Tennessee isn't listed in field tomorrow at 6-6:30 then 0% means busting out the Dos Equis for sorrow.....However if somehow we make it and thats 100% in then busting out the Dos Equis for celebration. So 50/50 I can roll with that for now.

You are just looking for an excuse to break out the Dos Equis. :) Just have some Margaritas and be done with it. For you fellers in Buck Snort, go pull on a jug of good corn whiskey or copper pot lightning.

NCAA tournament decides the NC. In theory, the 68 teams that make it would be the top 68 teams in the country. Winning the NIT would put you at 69th. Now, there is no arguing that 69 is a great position, unfortunately, just not in basketball.

Haha

Siegel has been better than lunardi over the past few years....TIFWIW

This is jmo, but I think the NIT means nothing. The only good it does, is give them extra practice time. If not for that, I would not care if they got rid of the NIT. That being said, if we do not make the NCAA tournament, I hope we win the NIT, because I want Tennessee to win at whatever they are playing. That goes for all sports, men and women. GBO!

n i t bound. anyone hear of joe lunardi ? 99 % right. he says we are OUT !! we need to be playing. what is the use of going the ncaa and losing in the first round, when we can go to the nit and maybe win the thing !!!!

If you look at the grading of the bracketologists..both Lunardi and Palm who many tout are at the bottom of the accuracy percentages...also...if you miss 1 out of the 68 teams, your percentage for picking is 98.1%..they go almost strictly by RPI...not saying Tennessee makes it..Im saying These guys are hired guns...paid to keep people in line and watching the networks...

Who has Alabama beaten? Serious question.

Tennessee, and 20 other teams despite playing several games without anywhere from 40-80% of their starting lineup.

They have a higher RPI, have won 4 more games, and have fewer bad losses.
