I would sign her especially since it doesn't look like we will be bringing anybody in, she can't be any worst than Nia, if she isn't ready Redshirt her a year and let the next coaching staff get the best out of her

Sign her up! We need tall. Can teach her the rest! And if she just holds a place on the bench, at least Dunbar will have someone to talk to... :(

Free Kort

Who can teach her? Not this bunch of jokers. Heck they haven't even put her on their radar. She does sound promising though. Maybe the next LV coach will go after her before UConn, SC or Notre Dame gets wind of her.

Like Akhator? How did that work out for Holly?

Well or else she's willing to take a project player then the JUCO route would be the better option and i'm saying she should probably look at a couple of them not just one this time. if she were to take a project player i see them been more of a bench warmer, i doubt they see any time on the floor.

The fact that we even have a thread about a player like this shows how this program has fallen. We used to get all top 20 players in the nation and made our choices from them. Now we can't even recruit a top fifty player class and with that failure will have one post player next season. So we look at these three and two star players just to have a tall body.

Is a 2016 unsigned post player. She is very quick and can defend plus rebound. From Elizabethtown, TN. Just wondering does anybody know have our staff gave her a look? Or is there any other unsigned post we may be looking at?

I think that's Elizabethton TN. I am an alum of that school and they have built a pretty good program. They play fundamentally sound ball but I fear she may not be able to keep up with the speed of the game. Who knows what could happen though?

Watched her play many times as I live here in etown. She has some strong games against mediocre competition at best. There is no way she will do anything with lady vol basketball. She will get ran over in the SEC. She would probably get ran over playing NAIA ball. Not trying to be rude, but it's the truth and if we settle for players like that at Tennessee we are in serious trouble.

Well the LV's have been in to see her.....We're doomed yall but according to Maria she has tremendous upside :thud: upside is not what the LV's need and any player that wants to succeed has seen what Holly and company do with 7 AA which is why we struggle getting recruits now :cray:

There are others, however, it appears that either they are not interested in us or we are not interested in them. Remember Holly said during one interview, when Nail Fortner asked about the donut for 2016, she replied that she was not going to just sign anybody. Maybe the unsigned post players fit into Holly's anybody column. For a coach that has zero recruits for 2016 she must be a tad too picky. She needs to realize that top programs, even UCONN, signs a three or four star, every now and then. The days of Tennessee only signing 5 stars needs to be evaluated. It sounds to me that Holly does not feel that she and her staff can develop a player unless they are a five star. Judging by the development of Russell, I would say that they lack the ability to develope 5 stars. After reading the article on this young lady I can clearly see why Holly may not be interested, because the article says that any coach that takes pride in developing post players should be interested in this young lady.

the simple fact that she can run the court well at 6' 4" would have me recruiting her like crazy! She can be taught how to play bball.

Unlike others on this board I am not a coach.

With that said I cannot say that I was impressed by Schubert.

But I will allow the Coaches on This board to choose the high school players that Holly should offer basketball scholarships to.

what have you seen that you dislike?

Like I said, I'm not a basketball coach, and I am not qualified to say whether or not a high school basketball player is division one material or not, unless you go merely by size.

As far as Schubert is concerned, I would have to see a better quality film on her than the youtube video posted here. More closeups on her individual play.

but, those youtubes show that she can score on a layup, so that is better than half of the lady vols already.... and she can run for a big girl. I'd say she is way more mobile than Russell and bigger than Nia by a lot. She is somebody who you can work with and maybe find a gem. imvvho
