Eric Gordon

Just as an update:

Josh Ward is talking to Eric Gordon on SportsTalk. Gordon said, in no uncertain terms, that it was "neck and neck" (UT and Alabama) but Kiffen "got it done."

That's Kiffin, with an "in"

Great job Coach Kif.

I found it interesting that this is Jamont Gordon's brother.
I wonder if Jamont ever told Eric that he goofed by not coming here.

seems like a similar situation. Jamont wanted to play at UT until we fired Buzz, so he goes to Miss St. Fulmer gets fired during Eric's senior year. Jamont regrets coming to play for UT and Pearl, so he tells little brother not to make the same mistake.

Kiffin told him he might play some slot.

These guys must have a strong appreciation for Kiffin's honesty after the Boyd situation, right?

I'm sure most coaches just blow smoke, but there is a huge difference between a coach who is being honest versus one who is just selling the program.

No he'll be a tampa 2 corner. He should be a good kickoff returner. Would like somebody a little more explosive on punt returns but he would be an upgrade there too.

I believe you're talking about Gordon and Dickens was talking about Teague. Could be wrong though :)

What a pleasant surprise. Here's a guy we have been trailing with since the begining and Kiffin comes in and gets his committment in a week.

I was talking Gordon. A lot of people wanted to say phil was such a good recruiter but I like what Kiffin's doing. We are getting explosive athletes that want to play in a pro system on both sides of the ball. Just think guys if we have a decent season next year it can only get better.

I think, and this is just my outside opinion, that Kiffin has a plan for dealing with people like Saban and Meyer. He was able to get people from everywhere to go to USC, pulling recruits from major coachs' backyards probably when some of the recruits didn't know very much about USC. Plus, USC didn't have facilities to speak of so he was able to sell the product on the field (and now he's got the opportunity to use the facility argument as well). This says to me that he's not only a good talker and keeps his word, but he knows how to out-recruit some of the best. I think he fences in Tennessee and starts to get prospects from everywhere. We may have a roster with players from almost all 50 states by the time he's been here 4 years (obviously being a bit facetious, but it will be an eclectic roster in terms of where they come from).

all he has to say is "Hi, would you like a full ride to USC?"
