eggshell-thin skins around this place.

who gives a crap what espn says or doesn't say.

I agree with you to a point. However, ESPN is largely responsible for determining which teams play in the BCS Bowls, and it all but determines who wins the Heisman Trophy each year.

Amazing that ESPN has such sway over the BCS, especially when you consider that they don't even have the rights to the games.

You can't tell me that the media doesn't have some influence on who is ranked where.

But in reality, all you have to do is win on the field and usually everything will fall in place. Its all a team can do.

(sorry about the edits...Arizona Vol has me all nervous about my spelling)

The next time Corso or Reece Davis make a tackle, I'll say they have real impact. Otherwise, their effect is peripheral at most.

Well since one poll is the USA Today poll I would say yes the do have an influence, but as far as ESPN deciding who plays for the BCS title and who wins the Heisman.

It's funny you are quick to call people fools who disagree with you, but you can't spell words correctly. Awesome job.

Let's not get into the whole played out spelling thing again......unless you think you are incapable of a spelling error or a typo. I know I'm not. Please?

Well until we put teams away we will get the crap. Why in this world did we go into a prevent defense with 4 minutes left in the game??? We finally was taking control of the line of scrimmage before the prevent and they drove straight down the field for a TD.

You should never play scared, Bill Parcells.

I watched the game on Tivo last night, and I was struck about what they did not say about Hefney.

Did anyone hear them mention that he was from SC?

After the punt, the comments were, "yep, good runback. He looks tired." Nice job from the ESPN research department.

After an early punt return into the SC sideline, I did see him talking a bit of smack to the bench.

Maybe he was saying hello to some old friends:question:

I was fed up with seeing the Stat of Fulmer going 8-3against Spurrier, they must have run that graphic 30 times.
Yes, I certainly hate it when facts appear on the screen...

If UT does not want commentators saying our running game is not up to par, that our special teams are suspect, and that our run defense is porous, then we should work to improve those areas. Do you want ESPN to sit there and say that every last thing UT does is outstanding???

Finally an area the LT and I agree on. I admit I used to believe ESPN had a vendetta out on the Vols....and at times they do convieniently overlook Tennessee when handing out greatness candy. But you can't give up 300+ yards of total offense against the SEC's version of a mid-major even though they have the ole ball coach and get the oh hell yeah's from the talking heads, and expect to get verbally celebrated.

That's true, kind of. Before the South Carolina game, all the ESPN talking heads were picking SC to beat Tennessee though. So since SC was so great in their eyes and we beat them, you'd think that we'd get a little of the greatness candy. It doesn't matter how many yards they got, we Steve Spurrier and his beloved gamecocks. You all know as well as I do that ESPN went down there looking for an upset.

I hate South Carolina, and think there not that great but thats a stretch calling them a mid major.

Well, I believe the only conference they could win is the Sun Belt. And talent-wise, they're no better than 2 or 3 in the MAC, WAC, C-USA, MWC.

I was saying they are the SEC'S VERSION of a mid major....meaning without Spurrier they'd have no chance of doing anything but bottom feeding in the SEC tank. With the ole ball coach they're better but thats about it.
