Sooooo, let's see. This is the same espn that predicted that sc would win the east. That t am defense wasn't that good, that usu would beat ut. Etc. Etc. Etc. You mean that espn?

Anyone....Stoops, ESPN, Fans... ANYONE judging the Big 12 vs the SEC on this game needs a reality check. I am not saying OU is unbeatable by our team but as much as I want us to beat them reality sets in every time I think about it. Next year in Neyland.....very different story. I just hope our horses can stay healthy in this game for conference play and as they gain experience maybe just back into 7 wins.

Fans are funny lol. People who said 6-7 wins are the most they expect all of a sudden think we can beat OU on the road with 2/3 of our players taking their ACTs this time last year based on beating USU and Ark State.

I guess you guys really racked up a lot of wins against A&M and Missouri when they weren't in the SEC (and weren't very good pre-SEC). I may have miscalculated but I think Stoops only is .500 and has been outscored by SEC schools at all locations.
Shut up with this nonsense. Maybe, just maybe, a middle of the road big 12 team exposed that its not that difficult to come into the SEC and contend. Those two programs aren't insanely better now because they are in the SEC. aTm beat Alabama with big 12 players, and Mizzou won the SEC East with mostly big 12 players. But please, spin it how ever makes you feel good.

Oh, now you want to bring out last year's stats. Of course OU had a low conversion rate. The starting QB for 2/3 of the season is now a TE.

Since you are being a jerk about it, the only real way we can do a comparison is based on competition each team played against. Based on UT's 2013 schedule, that would only be Alabama. OU won quite convincingly. How did UT do against Bama last year?

I'm not sure why you think I'm being a jerk. I'm simply posting statistics. I even said you had a good team.

Alabama beat us quite handily last year and you beat them pretty well. Our starting QB also broke his thumb and our 3rd string QB put up the 2nd most points against them up to that game other than Texas A&M. They were also ranked #1 and we were ranked, oh wait, we weren't ranked last year...

Don't get your panties in a wad because I believe we have a chance to keep it close. It's not like I'm saying we're going to "push their **** in", like one of your posters on landthieves...

VaSoonerfan I have to confess that I have enjoyed your posts, I actually have learned a little from you, and I respect your passion for a great Ou team...

however, if you want to start that Big 12 is just as good as the SEC because we beat Bama in a consolation prize game nonsense, then Im going to have to ask you to please kindly remove your head from your anus...
Its simple, how many National championship games has the Big 12 played in and how many have they won in the last 7 years?
Really, do we really need to discuss this or can we move on to current events that are debatable?

Tell us again how many National Championships the big12 has during the BCS days.

anyone who watched that game saw that alabama didn't treat it like a consolation, especially on that 1st drive. Or during there comeback in the 2nd half. It does make a good excuse though.

HARDY HAR HAR go ahead and stroke your conference ego. Just like stoops said, the middle of the road SEC isn't any better than any other conference. Of course that is where Tennessee has been the past decade, so your going to take offense to it.

I hate to say it but we are going to get beat badly. Sorry.

I am in awe of the number of people not only giving us a chance which we have every time we take the field but rather expecting a win. About 9:30-10pm there will be tons of "Meltdown Mode" posts about how we should have done this or that when in reality we are in a year with a lot of very skilled but very inexperienced players that will develop as the season goes along and especially into the next couple years and beyond.

I am proud of my school for not being afraid to schedule games like this. It will really pay off in the upcoming years.

The middle of the road SEC team is not better than the top teams of other conferences...I would however pick a mid SEC conference team wit a mid non sec conf team every time.
As for the top tear SEC...not even close, ask the guys in ireland how many crystal balls they sent out of the SEC

There's always that 1 in a million situation, which is while I'll watch at least some of the game.

Don't get me wrong. At kickoff my wishful thinking side will have me pumped up thinking anything can happen. I will watch with the highest of hopes of any sunshine pumper on the board, but alas, reality will come crashing in.

Speaks volumes of your conference when all you can lay claim to is that your middle of the road teams are better than our middle of the road teams.

Let the Sooners overlook us. When we knock them in the mouth and stomp their playoff hopes in the mud they won't be on this board until next year.

They will slowly trickle in talking smack about how we got lucky in 2014 and how 2015 is finally their year...

I read you. I'll probably go ahead and get my mattress out to the burn pit early in the day while it's still cool but there won't be any fire until the final whistle blows.

I don't think he would even if there was a chance of it.

They do have to come to Neyland next year.

You don't want a Butch coached team to have extra motivation in the home opener next year. JMO

and that is where you are wrong. Sorry man.

percentages of SEC teams represented in the top final top 15 rankings over the past decade as well as strength of schedule rankings don't agree.
I just googled through the years rankings and will say more affirmatively than ever that YOU SIR ARE INCORRECT!

can we get back to the game at hand now?
its going to be tough for the vols, but I look forward to the game.

And no offense to you OU fans, both my parents went to OU, and I respect the tradition.....

I just knew the SEC was better conference and came here! (J/K)
