Ethan Wolf is a Vol

how's it possible to get these commitments (and the supposed silents) without the buzz created by the spring game attendance?

Just wait. Many recruits are in holding pattern awaiting the official attendance numbers. Did you not know this?

so a 4 star recruit and a top 10 player at his position isn't good enough for some of you? sweet zombie jesus on a pogo stick, we wouldn't have a damn team if we only took the players that would make you happy, and that's saying we got all of them too. There are only so many "elite" players in the nation any year, and I would call someone top 10 in the ENTIRE COUNTRY at the least "elite" at their position. but I'm sure some of you will say elite is only top 5, or 3, or just the best. So jalen isn't elite either being the #3 RB.

And as I said in another post on this thread, maybe they will. I also said I'm glad he's a vol. Why all the hysteria over my opinion??? What I said is absolutely true - he's a decent pick up, not an outstanding one.

So if he picks up a 4th star and 10 more offers, you gonna come back and say he is outstanding?

I think the good thing is that you're actually in a position to complain about a recruit like Wolf. No more diamonds in the rough.

First of all, you said that programs "passed" on a recruit in April. Either you are supremely in the know or just pulled it out of your ass.

His offer list is good, certainly not bad enough to say that you "can't blame" Butch for offering. Implying that this is some kind of reach is ridiculous.

For now, they have passed on extending an offer. As I stated twice already in this thread - they may offer at some point, but as of right now, they haven't. Also, is it not an endorsement for me to say I don't blame Butch for offering?

<------- Waiting for the NCAA to come in and say the "commitment brick" is an "improper benefit" and make each recruit cough up $4.

Wouldn't surprise me.

Brick idea is awesome, by the way. If not already, they should be for sale in the University Center bookstore.

I may be wrong but I think Ethan brought the brick to Knoxville with him. Very cool

The star upgrade wouldn't change my opinion very much, but certainly I'm open to re-evaluating a kid when his offer list improves. With scholly limits these days, schools can't waste offers, so I tend to put more weight into offer lists than star ratings. There are exceptions.

What if they come tomorrow? Will he be better than he is today?

If they don't will you agree with fade

No, cause his offer list now is better than decent. Plus, he may not fit their system. Too many variables. If you watch his film, he is more than decent. He is solid.

I don't see how those schools offering makes him any better. He is still the same player.

Are you telling me ND, Ohio State, and Bama don't use their tight ends?

Why is it so important to you for me to say this kid is awesome? You fear I may be right?

Not important at all. Why was it important for you to say he isn't? Kid is good and you say he is "decent" and others passed. You expected people not to respond to that?

BOOM!!! BOOM!!! :dance2:

Wolf chose Tennessee over scholarship offers from more than a dozen other teams, including Michigan State, Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana, Nebraska, North Carolina State and Arkansas.

That's what I call an impressive list! Welcome Mr. Wolf! VFL. Anyone on this board who does not think this is a great get, please leave and turn in your Vol posting badges! Otherwise get on the train that bUTch is driving!

It's a message board and I gave my opinion. You don't see me screaming at everyone who disagrees with my evaluation, do you?

I don't know why everyone is giving fade grief when he's just giving his opinion. I might not agree with it but I don't make countless posts about his opinion being wrong. It's just an opinion and I'm not quite sure why there has to be a "right" opinion.

I will say that it's a position of need so it's a good pick-up.

With that being said how many more TE's do we pick up for this class?
