Yes, I partially misremembered, in that the play was pretty much over, but Woody did come off the sideline and way out onto the field when he punched linebacker Charlie Bauman.

I always thought the Clemson player's reaction was mostly like "Did that old dude just punch me?"

He didn't come way out onto the field, in fact I'm not even sure you can count that as a punch, more like a slow clothesline attempt.

The word that I got from a former football coach close to the situation, was that the kid intercepted a pass in a scrimmage, returned it for a td, and started celebrating in the endzone. Sanders went up to him, and told him in no uncertain terms that kind of behavior wouldn't be tolerated because he might get a penalty for excessive celebration.


The kid said something smart and Sanders slapped him on the helmet with an open hand. He says that Sanders will get 3 to 5 days suspension, and will not lose his job.

If that's the case, then the kid, not Sanders, should be the one ejected for unsportsmanlike behavior.

That kid should be held accountable for this. He should also be kicked off the team. I hope you players make it impossible for him to stay because I am pretty sure you couldn't kick him off because of this.

Y’all need to simma down. Ridiculing the kid when we don’t even know if the kid reported it, or if it was just got caught and reported. We don’t even know what really happened. Let the story break first

Now you’re overreacting, considering you have no idea if the kid or his family had anything to do with the suspension.
