Why is it that we were made with just enough delay in there to go "oh **** this is going to huuuuuuuuuuuuuuu......."
The number of people in this topic saying "Its totally fine he hit a kid because its football" is insane.
My dad was a tough SoB, but if another man hit me or any of my siblings when I was a kid he would've kicked their ass within an inch of their life.
Now if he wanted to whip my ass that was a different story, and acceptable.

Not that its ok but most of us who played at least competitive high school football and are 40 plus were hit by coaches on a regular basis in practice. It was common and expected. We also think kids now are too sensitive and need to toughen up.

Your dad could whip any of our dads? The number of people in this topic saying "Its totally fine he hit a kid because its football" is insane.

Not a big deal. Just a kid crying and his mommy and daddy came to the rescue.
Wheres your evidence thats what happened?
Sanders then slapped the player's helmet. According to the report, the player became "visibly upset," took off his helmet and pads and left the field while some of his teammates attempted to console him. Sanders said he tried to speak with the player but let him walk away after seeing the player's reaction.
I hate it too, always did like him.
It sounds like a sexual harassment complaint to me based on this statement.
"East Tennessee State coach Randy Sanders has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the results of an investigation of a potential violation of university policy, the school announced in a statement Monday."
Just pure speculation on my part, but I hope that I'm wrong.
That will teach coaches to self report.Randy Sanders' statement, "Last week, I responded to a situation with poor judgment towards the end of practice. I immediately apologized to the player directly involved and to my team, and contacted my athletic director to explain everything that happened. Since that time, I have cooperated freely and fully with the university and its review of the situation.
I accept the decision by the university and recognize that through my role I have an obligation to lead by example. As I said back in December, I am truly grateful to be your coach and I am thankful for the opportunity given to me by our President Dr. Brian Noland and Athletic Director Scott Carter. I look forward to returning to the sideline."
