F all of them

Talent.. not really. Jones deserves all the tough love for being mediocre.

No to the talent?

Our top 22 can hang with anybody. Our 2s can fill in to keep the 1s fresh. It's "depth with talent and experience" that can make a difference. What would we look like with the guys that left early? Malone, Kamara, and Barnett, these guys are being told they are ready for the NFL. They are ready. Three skill guys coached by CBJ are ready for the NFL early, that's not mediocre. CBJ is conservative. Resulting in him being predictable. If a DC game plans on the vols being conservative, he will be right 80 to 90% of the time.

If the guess is hand off right and then we run handoff right, their chances have greatly improved on stoping the play.

If we come out swinging(Preferred by me.). How great could we be?

The sky is the limit.

Win today. Win tomorrow.

1) Lacking talent was the wrong thing to say. We had the perfect storm last year with talent and experience. We don't have as much talent as last year, and we have a lot less experience everywhere except the Oline.

2) We had a playoff caliber team last year and didn't crack double digits. That was a failure by Jones and his staff. Individual draft picks are indicators of position coaches, not the head coach.

3) Being overly conservative is one of Jones's biggest flaws. His other is player development. Kamara, Barnett, and Dobbs were talented enough to get drafted with bad coaching by Jones.

Craig Puki was the best!

I don't have a Craig Puki card. Does anyone have an extra one? I've got extra of a few others. Maybe a good trade is in order.

I'll up date the post and we can recruit players with names that we can cheer by booing.

121 stands in it's own. They are talented. They have a lot of live action.

Did 120 have more of both? Sounds like it.
From watching the player's interviews, the players seem more focused and seemed to embrace the expectations of "Win today. Win tomorrow.". That's a high standard. No days off till January the 9th.

Work, work, work. Everyday. But hey, that's just for the players and coaches. The crazy part they want to work as if the work itself is "The Prize".

My role is just as important.

"The Prize" is a NC. Everything is leading up to being in Atlanta on January 8th. Playing an unworthy opponent about to stomp them into a mudhole.

But let's take care of today 1st. Film, weights, practice field, what else is there? Have classes started back?

I think they take classes year round.

Doesn't 2 imply it's the position coaches do the developing.

CBJ's role is to have a master plan of how to get the Vols back to being a Super Power of College Football.

Burger I don't give a crap about saben! Or how he coaches, our staff is good and just bc Butch lost a good strength coach the YEAR AFTER WE WENT TOE TOE WITH BAMA IN TUSCALOOSA WITH BUTCH COACHING AND WAS A DRIVE AWAY FROM BEATING THIS COACH YOU SPEAK OF NAMED SABEN! But guess what ! We have a fricken 18 year NFL streangth coach bc inspite of what you think Butch nows what we need but you can stroke saben all you want vols rise bama falls

Ecplise is messin up brain waves. Folks talkin trash because we almost won a game and hired a sc coach. Lol

They said the same last year, and the year before.

The position coach does the day by day technical development, the S&C coach does the physical development. The job of Butch is to make sure all players are developing on the right trajectory.

Jones has failed miserably on the last part. He's trying to correct it though.

Seems that charting their progress would be the easy part. Last year Player X was able to bench 225 18 times this year it's 25. That's progress.

It's the HC's job to get into these players mind and figure out how to get them to give their all.

CBJ is more involved with the mental aspect of player development.

Seems like it was Overstreet that talked about running the hill.

He said something like, if you ever got tired and didn't think you could finish a drill everyone would start running the hill until you COULD finish the drill.

That confused me. Seems like you would be more tired after running the hill a few times, rather than being less tired to finish a drill.

The correct answer is Butch Jones.

There are times when unbridled optimism is what a program needs from the fan base.

When the world it telling them they can't do it, that's when they need to know who has their back and is willing to "Stand up and be counted.".

Don't get put in the trick bag of tough love. 121 gets enough of that. No need for Volnation to pile on.

Sometimes it's the smallest spark of belief that inspires the greatest of actions. Even if it's faked.

Check the stats of 121. The players the coaching staff, there are plenty of genuine reasons to believe and to know that 121 can achieve the highest of expectations.

Do the research. There is no reason to have to fake it.

121 is stacked with talent. Rock has put an edge on them. It 2 weeks we get to enjoy the fruit of their labor.

It's Rock or bust.
So if their stats (not sure how they go stats before the season) and research (not real sure what is supposed to be researched) shows that they are a really good team, how would interent chatter change any of that?

The stadium is always full showing support for the team.

Except when they are booing them.

Yeah, what was the score of that game?
Highly doubt people were booing players, but rather a coaching decision.

I never boo college teams btw, teach my children to never do it either.

What does the score have to do with it?

Still dumb IMO

I'd never advise you or anyone on raising kids, but I think that's good.

Could you let us know what exactly they have figured out and how you know they habe figured "it" out?

They figured out that even tho they worked last year, they did not work to the level needed to be great as they wanted. Rock with his NFL experience showed them what it means to work. The improvements in the weight room shows they have figured it out.

So lack of work was the reason we lost 4 games last year, no injuries? Interesting.

Some of 121 was part of 120, 119,118, and 117. There's stats on a lot of them.

Research their football careers. What they have done as a player or as a coach. There is hard evidence that 121 has talent.

Sometimes showing up is not enough. There have been times some of the crowd have turned on their own and booed.

I expect better from Vol fans.

From the player interviews I concluded some of 120 didn't take SC or Vandy serious enough. Sure I'll give you our injuries didn't help, that's X's and O's, the real problem is the lack of respect for SC and definitely Vandy. Shoop came out and said he did adjust the defense due to injury. He felt that it wasn't necessary to beat Vandy, even with the injuries.

Lack of respect leads to not working hard enough.
