An OK Ferrari debut for Alonso.

Would've been nice to see what would've happened without Vettel's problem. It seemed like Alonso was catching him before they reported the problem, whether that was the reason he was caught or not.

Got to see alot of Schumi in the news and racing during my time in Germany. He's the Michael Jordon of racing and I just got a feeling he's going to get back up to the top mix next season.

Yeah, but even MJ wasn't the same after his comeback. Plus, I think Ferrari is a step ahead of Mercedes right now.

Which is why I think next year. Ferrari was crap too when Schumi started with them. They had alot of issues and within two to three seasons, they were back on top.

Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren are better than Mercedes right now.

They, Mercedes, got beat in Bahrain. But I don't think all the teams can keep up the pace all season long. Ferrari and McLaren will but I can't see Red Bull in there for the long haul.

Their reliability issues scare me, but Red Bull was there for the long haul last year.

Of course, Ferrari & McLaren were down most of last year.

Red Bull won't challenge for anything. Newey + free reign = unreliability. Ferrari is the best bet, everyone else will fight for their scraps.

The dream is over. And by dream, I mean nightmare.

autosport.com - F1 News: Team US F1 shuts down operation

If this isn't the final nail in the coffin for F1 in the States, I'm cringing to see what is.

I for one would like to see an established team try to enter a team from the US. It's probably not likely though with most of the "established teams" being in NASCAR with no real interest in F1. Just my opinion.

I would think it would have to be an IRL team to make a go of it, but only two or three have the financial & organizational ability to even try. There is little sponsor interest in the U.S. for F1.

Penske has long since been out of it and i doubt Ganassi or Andretti have any desire to be in it.

and what American drivers would they have? that would be the only way it MIGHT work.

They wouldn't necessarily have to have American drivers. Sure, it would make it more attractive to American fans. But, and I hate to say this, a team with two American drivers probably would not be very competitive in F1.

Care to give an example?

Graham Rahal, JR Hildebrand and Ryan Hunter Reay are three guys that could be at least decent right now. Alex Rossi, Conor Daly, John Edwards, Josef Newgarten(Nashville native), Connor De Phillipi, and Brett Smrz are some younger guys who could do the job later in their career.

That's nine that I can think of.
