Ive never seen so many cry babies in all my life. They didn't like the coach and didn't do their job to boot. Now he bailed and they cannot get in front of a camera fast enough to cry! How many of them left other teams to come to Atl and how many of them will leave this year? It is a business get over it and grow up!

I doubt any of them left his team midseason.

Only because they can't. Coaches can. This is a business of sports entertainment. Plus many of them might as well have if you take how they played.

They sure can. How many coaches can you recall have quit midway through their first season?

The players can "leave" by not playing which they haven't most of the season. I'm not a fan of how he left the team but I can't blame him for leaving. The team is awful, the players hated him and the team and city still think Vick is the Savor. Go back to the college game and enjoy coaching again.

From what I heard he didnt even want them (the teammates) to talk to each other on the airplanes.

He is another Saban or Spurrier...in other words he ia nothing more than a college coach who cant roll with the big dogs.

His college record is inflated as well.

And I bet they cover the spread this week

In 1976 Lou Holtz left the NY Jets with one game to go and a 3-10 record in his first season as their coach. Ironically enough, he was to be the next HC at Arkansas.

Alabama hired Ray Perkins while he was still under contract with the NY Giants.

It happens. What's going to change this time around is that the NFL is going to think twice about hiring HC's out of college.

Bobby Petrino=Piece of human filth who should be thrown in front of a speeding train.

Was Arthur Blank bad when he fired Reeves with 3 games left in the season? How about the utter lack of character by the "leaders" on the team. So far the only person showing any class in the whole thing is Patrino. I have heard him say nothing bad about the Falcons. Like Beef said this is a business. Holtz did the same thing with the Jets and ESPN seems to have forgotten that. The Falcons players and Blank need to quit crying and move on. ESPN needs to do the same.

Blank didn't fire Reeves. Reeves realized new ownership might want to bring in their own guy, so he went to Blank and asked him if he'd be retained and Blank was straight up with him and told him that they would be looking to bring in somebody else after the season, so Reeves decided to go ahead and resign.

Come on GA, don't muddle the waters with facts. Let those who want to defend a piece of fecal matter like Petrino defend their trash unabated.

Petrino is trash and a disgrace to his profession. That said, somebody needs to fax this Wikipedia article to Arthur Blank's attention stat:

Narcissistic personality disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blank seems to be infatuated with himself, and as a result makes some pretty poor decisions. The more I watch him (mis)manage the Falcons franchise, the more I realize that Bernie Marcus was the brains behind Home Depot.

Petrino is complete garbage. I hope Arky goes 0-12 next year and then whatever other team he coaches goes winless in 09.

Facts my ass. The point is the same. Blank had no issue with Reeves and there were 3 games left. I have no dog in this fight (Vick pun intended) either way. Owners fire coaches all the time with games left all the time and no one seems to think that is bad. Coaches are on a diffferent level than players. I think this is nothing more than an attempt to talk about anything other than Vick. I could care less how well he does at any school but I do think that the talking heads are going over board.

Were you not one of the many Nick Saban ass kissers last year? Funny how that is so different. I don't blame Arkansas nor Patrino. I could care less for either but I don't blame them. Blank is a terrible owner who gets too involved and he is trying to be a Jerry Jones type owner. The difference is that JJ knows football and is rich where as Blank is just rich.

Falcon fans and players need to quit crying.

I have no earthly idea where you get that idea. Blank has typically let his head coach and Rich McKay call all of the shots. In hindsight it's very easy to fault blank for hitching his wagon to Michael Vick, but to somehow blame Blank for the way Petrino snuck out of town is absurd. I think everybody understands why Petrino wanted out and it was probably for the best, but he couldn't have done it in a worse way if he had tried.

On the pregame show this morning they reported that Petrino had to be forced to tell his assistants that he was leaving and that 2 weeks ago he gave his players t-shirts that said "Finish". :swoon3:

That was the fault of the printers, not Petrino. The t-shirts were supposed to say "Finished".

Yeah, I heard them say that on Fox. They could have distributed "Finished" t-shirts the day Michael Vick was indicted.

Jerry Jones knows football so well that he decided Dave Campo and Chan Gailey would be good NFL coaches. Remind me again what the Cowboys have won since the megalomaniac ran Jimmy Johnson out of town.

If the Cowboys make it to the Super Bowl, will Bum's boy or Jones be the designated genious?

Good point. And just recently the AJC had an article on how Arthur and Jerry are such close friends. They're both impulsive narcissists, although Jones is on another level.
