That’s ridiculous. The majority of Americans are not rich, so of course if it doesn’t “affect” them many will say it’s good.Exactly.
Her general views -- that the wealthy are not paying enough in taxes and that we need to do something about climate change -- are shared by the majority of Americans.
The Devil is in the details.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Suggests Super Wealthy be Taxed Up to 70% to Fund ‘Green New Deal’
Instead of dumping money into dead end stuff. Fix the deficit
We’ve already got 75 democratic socialists in congress. Wait.... isn’t that about 1/5th? Wonder how many are radical socialists?
... or Steve King.
Ocasio-Cortez is young, attractive and she has a fun personality. We all know damn well that many of the Republicans who will be making fun of her the next two years would f*** her in a heartbeat. Pointing out her dancing in a college video makes Republicans look old and uptight for thinking it would make her look bad... those things are why she is popular in the first place. That was definitely a misfire attack. As has been said, pointing to her proposed 70% tax bracket is much better ammunition.
Well, lets not go that far... at least with regards to climate change.
And so what if the majority of Americans agree with her? Are we a democracy or a republic? Are we governed by mob rule?
Trump is just sucking the last remaining air out of the room. If you're a GOPer you need to fall in line with Trump because he's so popular within the party. Romney sees himself as a Flake/McCain/Corker replacement; he's trying to fill that void, so perhaps Graham will find an ally in him.Changing the topic a bit, but still speaking of traitors and free radicals. Has anybody else noticed that without the remaining Flakes (including McCain, Corker, Ryan, etc) Lindsay Graham is changing his tune a bit? Something like high visibility "individualism" looses it's luster a bit when it's not so much a part of a crowd.
You will, If you find the right article to copy and paste.
It's purely because in the last 2 instances where the winner of the popular vote lost the general election, it was a Democrat who ended up on the losing end of it. There would be precisely zero talk of abolishing the Electoral College from Democrats if it was Democrats who lost the popular vote but won more electoral votes. It'd be coming from Republicans. Not much difference between a true democracy and mob rule. One usually is just more refined and less messy than the other. Either can be excited/incited by a single spark (with or without reason ... the intelligent type). Makes you understand why Dims/libs would prefer to get rid of the way states are represented in the senate and the electoral college.
Ocasio-Cortez on Getting Booed: ‘Don’t Hate Me Cause You Ain’t Me’
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) tweeted a message to the few Republicans who booed her on Thursday while she was voting for Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for Speaker: “Don’t hate me cause you ain’t me, fellas.”

As far as your last question, I have wondered the same.Trump is just sucking the last remaining air out of the room. If you're a GOPer you need to fall in line with Trump because he's so popular within the party. Romney sees himself as a Flake/McCain/Corker replacement; he's trying to fill that void, so perhaps Graham will find an ally in him.
I'm really interested to see what happens to Trumpism when Trump is out of office, whether that be in 2020, 2024, or some other time if he's removed from office. Has he permanently affected/changed the platform of the Republican Party, or does the GOP return to traditional orthodoxy once he's out of the picture? I'm not sure.
I keep reading that the right is attacking her for this video. Where are these people? I haven't read anything about this video and didn't even know about it until you posted a CNN link.https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/04/politics/ocasio-cortez-dancing-video-trnd/index.html
I have to say, I don't get it. I thought she looked pretty good in the video. Obviously, somebody thought it would hurt her on the day she was sworn in. Seems like a petty attack and has backfired.
