Loving the Lancia Stratos... Also, isn't that the Auto Union Type D? IIRC fetched the highest sale price of any car in history a few years back. Discovery had a show on it.

Here's another favorite:

Wow bham, just wow! Some great pics - D Type, Chapparell Sucker, 961 (brings memory of Al Holbert, very underrated driver) Brumos Porsche makes me think of Peter Perfect (Gregg), Vette - Lynn St. James. With exception of D-Type, I saw all them race at Mid-Ohio. Also worked the first Indy Car race which was USAC! First time they tried to qualify in the rain - not a very good result - almost got Joe Saldanna killed along with a couple of my co-workers at my station.

You are correct on the Auto Union. Later became Audi.

IIRC - Doc Bundy also drove the IMSA vette

There's a name I have not heard lately. That iteration of the Vette always reminded me of the Group 44 Jaguars fielded by Bob Tullius.

I have a bunch of slides I took at Mid-Ohio and Nelson Ledges and Waterford Hills. Also Sprint cars at Eldora. Wonder how I can get them on here?

Couldn't find a pic to do it justice but Buddy Baker's Gray Ghost is my pick. In the day this car was legendary. Other drivers complained that they couldn't see the car because it blended into the track.

Help me out rb! Wasn't ther a car in the IROC series that they parked because it would win no matter who was driving? Late 70's early 80's maybe?

I miss the SCCA Trans-Am series of the 1990s.

Hah! I miss the original Trans-Am of the late 60s, and I really miss the Can-Am series, the first road course race I attended at Mid-Ohio. Man those were monsters, and the sound of those big block V8s winding through the gears was indescribable.
