Fear the Walking Dead

The scenes where they are dealing with the Walker neighbors is very realistic...even though something is very wrong with them, I could see people trying to reason with friends, family and neighbors even as the infected are trying to get them. Never thought about it that way. Would easily explain how quickly it could spread.

The remaining episodes should be very exciting as well as showing how everything goes to hades.

So now I'm upset that they limited the first season to only 6 episodes.

It's really easy for us looking outside and knowing all we know about the WD universe for us to scream "KILL THEM" at the screen.

I know I couldn't just kill a neighbor or really any person if I didn't know the specifics of what was going on. But at the same time, if I came in and my neighbor was chowing down on my dog, I'd probably be quicker to realize he's gone nuts.

It's that classic horror genre struggle of the viewers knowing the "rules" and the protagonists being blissfully or tragically ignorant to said rules.

As frustrating as it is captivating.

For me, that's why genre bending movies like Tucker and Dale, Cabin in the Woods, or Shaun of the Dead are so much fun.

Yeah; not the same genre but also reminds me of the Austin Powers scene where Dr. Evil has Powers and his son says "I can go get a gun and shoot them right now" and Dr. Evil says "NO! I'm going to walk away and assume they die!"

Remember Herschel was keeping them in his barn and feeding them because he thought they were just sick.

I thought it was funny the next morning when they took the trash to street like just another normal day in LA. I was laughing about it then he looked over and the neighbor was doing the same thing.

My wife and I laughed at it to. She said "Do you really think taking the trash out is a priority now?"

I'm absolutely digging this show so far. Love all of the characters and relationship dynamics.

Also, your ex-wife and move-in girlfriend under the same roof?? Feel pretty bad for Travis :eek:lol:

I think the jury is still out on this show. They have a lot of explaining to do. Also, hoped it would originate from another country like UK or Australia. They need to explain ground zero and how this is being transmitted. The whole premise is flawed. I think they tried to do it with the old church or whatever kind of building the drug addicts were in but that doesn't work for me.

The story isn't about the origin of the "virus" it's about the how a group of people dealt with the initial chaos of the outbreak. Kind of like how TWD was more about the aftermath.

If you want definitive answers I doubt you will ever get them.

As for the shows location, it's an American show so it's going to take place in the US. That's just the way it is. Although LA is a completely different settings g than the rural south.

Seems like you missed all the preview press where Kirkman outright stated they would NOT say what the origin of the virus was. He's been very clear about that for months now.

And how is the premise "flawed"? I'm not sure you're "getting" the show based on your criticisms.

I believe that is called being between a rock and a hard place!

It almost seems like more of a curse if you think about it. All of the sudden, it appears that everyone in the world just "has" it. And those who check out after that start re animating.

Anyone remember what the scientist at the CDC had to say about it after studying?

You must have missed the pan away scene at the end of this latest episode. There was a bloody body laying in the street on trash day. Somebody was like "I'll just put this out with the trash today". :)

What a dick... that's recyclable iirc

Struck me as funny that Travis wanted to dispose of the blood soaked rug by taking it to the curb like any other trash...

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. The trash men won't notice that at all. Blood soaked blanket in the trashcan? Just another Thursday in LA. :)

This show reminds me of classic Shakespeare. The audience is well aware of what's going on. The characters however...

It's flawed because it is impossible to believe that everyone would be overrun by walkers. The only way you become a walker is to either get bitten by one or you die and then turn. This just doesn't seem plausible that these walkers would not have been destroyed by everyone especially as well armed as America is. You have to suspend disbelief to believe all this. It would have been a better show if he could have developed a plausible way for the walkers to overrun everyone. Other than that it is a fun show.

P.S.-Also that is a shame and would have been the most interesting aspect if he could have gone back to patient zero. That would have been neat.

So, the show's going to be over in 30 days? When Rick was shot he was only in the hospital for about 30 days or so when everyone was overrun. So this whole show spans 30 days?

If the virus had been transmittable by air so that it was easy for people to be infected and die however a small percentage of the population, maybe 2% were immune unless they got bitten would seem more plausible to me.

The women aren't as hot yet as TWD female characters except the one daughter but that can change.

Fantastic episode! The quarantine "utopia" is fading fast.

This whole quarantine thing isn't very plausible either. How long did it take them to erect the fence? Who erected it? Did they erect it around the whole community? How are they keeping the algae out of the swimming pool without a filter or chlorine? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. These writers aren't very good. Not the same writers as TWD I suspect. I hope they at least start writing hot women into the show. Geez.
