Federal Indictment of Donald Trump

He shouldn’t be worried about tactics like this being used against a Democrat. He should worry it could happen to him. This is Eastern Europe in the 50s kind of **** where people snitched on their neighbors to move up a spot in the bread line.

It can happen to me. Warrants get served to civilians all day everyday - Donny is a civy now that thought he was still above it. Tactical error.

Except they'd roll on you in the middle of the night with your family at home.

If this raid is over classified information brought to his hovel from the White House...well..hate to break it to most folks, ain't sh!t gonna happen to him. Pretty sure everyone in here is well aware of government officials at the highest levels mishandling classified information on a regular basis and it essentially amounts to teeth gnashing from the opposing political side.

I don't think anyone is under any illusion he's got legal trouble for this.

Yes and if it happened to you and I found out that their had been insinuations made that it was a get even situation because you pissed people off…..I would scream from the rooftops about it. More for you than I would for DT. But whether he’s guilty of what was laid out in the warrant or not, anyone can see that there’s a political element to it. I HATE him and I can see it.

Weird how policy changes to keep a government paycheck. That moment brought to you by Bill Clinton

If I break the law, know it and flaunt it while thumbing my nose at LEO's - I promise you I won't be upset when my door gets removed from the hinges.

Discussing this with a friend. Seems like Republicans are committed to the view that some people are above the law, at least to some degree. Basically, Trump should be immune to investigation for "minor crimes"--whatever those are--because the possibility that the investigation is being used for political purposes. Is that the basic view? And if so, are you ok with certain people being immune to investigation and prosection for certain crimes simply because, to quote Ron Burgundy, they're "kind of a big deal"?

I don't know, I'm not privy to that intel. Schumer was calling a spade a spade, it's not some Mrs. Cleo moment to point out that Donny couldn't **** on every institution in the beltway without blowback.

Right now I can only speculate that it was enough, given that it was his own appointee that kicked the door in.

His same appointee that just admitted 4 days ago that the Agency he’s responsible for overseeing had crapped the bed investigating Hunter. Being accused of a crime by a crooked Federal agency neither proves not disproves anything about Trump.

Let me ask you this. Do yo uthink that trump should be immune to following the law, should be immune from being investigated all because he got into a pissing contest with the ONLY law enforcement agency that could investigate him?

He made his bed early on, poisoned the well with his sycophants' and now staggers around like fred sanford having a heart attack every time they look in his direction. He's no victim.

It is such a conspiracy party for you. Everybody is against the Republicans, yet you believe there are more of Republicans in this country. And your godless crap is tired. Because I don't believe in your fairytale... I believe I am god. Do you know how dumb that sounds.

I will say it slow. I don't believe in god. Therefore, I don't believe that I am god.

I also disagree with most of what many democrats stand for. I disagree with most of what Republicans stand for.

You make my point. You don't believe in God, yet we are all created to worship something. Your god is the fed gov. That's why you believe you and your party can pee on the constitution and freedoms.
You believe your fed gov is the highest authority and there is nothing to it accountable. Stalin would have loved you.

That’s not what Republicans think. Law is “to be” called down the middle with no regard to political affiliation.

So his candidness in another situation proves what? Right now I'm not aware of any crime he's being accused of, outside of the speculation that he was tactically required to give back the documents he refused to give back previously. The .gov supposed to let that slide?

No I think he should face the consequences. If we were enjoying a beer could you look me in the eye and tell me that none of Holder, Lerner, Hilary, Mcabe, or possibly Comey shouldn’t have had their doors kicked in? The problem isn’t with prosecuting Trump. It’s all the people that walked before him that creates a situation where I hate my government. Eric Holder should be in jail for accessory to the murder of a federal agent. Instead he draws a six figure salary because the waters of the swamp washed away his sins.

Gotta admit, "undoing" a sitting Supreme just because Trump appointed them seems a bit far fetched. But then again a party largely driven by these people you never know

Oh it is. The only thing I know for sure is if a politician’s mouth is moving then they’re lying.

This goes to my point. Republicans are committed to the view that certain people, because of their status, are immune to at least a certain subset of criminal laws. Those with this rare form of immunity can just thumb their nose at those laws.

Like UT beating Florida. I'll believe it when I see it.

Personally, unlike UT beating Florida, I don't give a sh!t about any of this.

Outside of the schadenfreude, I don't really care either but I do find the reaction amusing.

Tim Scott supported Murkowski and Rand Paul violated federal law by taking too long to declare stock purchases. The only name that belongs in this list is Thomas Massie.
My morally corrupt threshold may be a tad higher than yours. Also, I am not saying that they are the only ones. He said moral politicians don't exist and I thought of four in less than a minute.

All of them should be subjected to the same amount of scrutiny and perp walk optics as the next.

I think the problem and possible difference between us is that I have no illusion that it's going to change or get better or that the "right thing" even exists.

I see a scumbag like trump getting embarrassed and I don't care. I would have been perfectly OK with Hil-dawg's place getting raided for the email server.

I suspect many on the right who are decrying trumps embarrassment as partisan motivated would have been cackling like hyenas if it had happened to Hillary under the exact same circumstances. That's why I find so much amusement in the pearl clutching, outrage feigning trumpers whining about slippery slopes.
