Fiesta Bowl Game Thread: #2 Ohio St (13-0) vs #3 Clemson (13-0) (ESPN 8PM EST)

Zero chance Dabo leaves Clemson for Bama. Bama literally offers no incentive that Clemson can’t offer Dabo.

He’s built an annual championship program. Why would he leave for another championship program where he would live in Saban’s shadow until he won 4-5 natty’s at Bama?

Bama offers nothing to Dabo.

1. He's a former Bama player
2. Doing it with the premier team in the SEC (I hate to say it) is different.
3. The best coaches seek challenges.

I hope I'm wrong but I fear I'm not

I expect it to be a slobber knocker. But LSU is on another level offensively. It will come down to Clemson's defense. I don't see anybody beating LSU in a shootout.

Clemson returned an entire national title winning offense. They don’t get the praise that LSU does, but Clemson’s offense is closer to LSU’s than anyone else by a wide margin.

The bigger question is whether Clemson can get Higgins and Ross healed up over next 2 weeks.

Absolutely. If that ball had been caught in the endzone and then stripped it would’ve been a td for Clemson. Where you catch the ball shouldn’t dictate whether or not it’s a catch.
Just like the Higgins 2 pt conversion. He caught the ball in his hands and kept in his hands.

I think LSU's offense is considerably more dynamic than OSU's and the defense while not as strong is not far off.

Lawrence is faster and a better passer than Hurts. He'll sustain drives that Jalen couldn't today.

Clemson's defense plays like a bunch of demons. But LSUs defense has awaken as well.

It's a toss up imo, that I'm giving the edge to Clemson because of thier grit.

They’ll go after him or Pruitt when Saban retires in a few years.

1- The Bama alum angle makes zero sense given the success he’s sustained at Clemson. 2-Going from Clemson to Bama Post Saban and winning natty’s would not be some big deal for someone like Dabo. It would be expected and not surprising if he won
3-There is only one “challenge” for Dabo to leave Clemson for Bama after Saban and that’s winning more natty’s than Nicky. Or he could just keep winning Natty’s at Clemson and beat Saban’s total. Doing it at Clemson is a bigger deal than doing it at Clemson and Bama.

The 2 personal fouls by Ohio St to keep drives going for Clemson cost them the game. Clemson got 2 tds off the personal fouls.

SEC refs must hate Guarantano. He has gotten ran through on blitz’s way worse than what happened to Lawrence and he never gets a targeting call.

If they are calling Pruitt, it means a couple of things:

1- Bama struck out on the likes of Dabo or Kirby or some other hot name over next 3-4 seasons.
2- Tennessee is succeeding under Pruitt with SEC title game appearances / 10+ win seasons

That’s a good thing that Bama would be calling Pruitt because it means Tennessee would be “back”..... no way they even consider Pruitt if Tennessee isn’t winning 10+ wins per season.

Only if Pruitt does better than Butch here.

Pruitt will have us at elite status in ‘21 and beyond. Saban will finish out his contract to ‘25 and retire, I just hope like hell Pruitt wants to make his own legacy and try to beat The Generals record.
