Fiesta Bowl Game Thread: #2 Ohio St (13-0) vs #3 Clemson (13-0) (ESPN 8PM EST)

If they are calling Pruitt, it means a couple of things:

1- Bama struck out on the likes of Dabo or Kirby or some other hot name over next 3-4 seasons.
2- Tennessee is succeeding under Pruitt with SEC title game appearances / 10+ win seasons

That’s a good thing that Bama would be calling Pruitt because it means Tennessee would be “back”..... no way they even consider Pruitt if Tennessee isn’t winning 10+ wins per season.

It’ll be #2, mark my words.

And IF Pruitt does bring us “back”, surely UT will pay him whatever to keep him here.. it sure would be nice to be 10-2 or better.

Dream scenario (if Pruitt left to go home to Bama) would be Chaney has been retired and Tee is the OC and takes over as head coach.

Would assume Tee is here for long haul and likely the guy to take over OC once Chaney has retired and Tee has learned the craft under him.

Clemson returned an entire national title winning offense. They don’t get the praise that LSU does, but Clemson’s offense is closer to LSU’s than anyone else by a wide margin.

The bigger question is whether Clemson can get Higgins and Ross healed up over next 2 weeks.
If they get healthy they'll be close. But not quite as good. Like I said, if Clemson's D can slow LSU down, they may win. But O vs O in New Orleans? I'll take LSU.

True but you know that has to end at some point.
This year! We know how good Clemson/Lawrence are But a call that could of went the other way, or QB/WR on the same page and were talking about OSU.
But mainly Burrow has been the best player all year and I see no reason to believe he won’t be next game!

I'll have to say OSU was better than I tought and are a better team overall than Clemson in my opinion. I'll also add that the heart of Clemson when nothing is going your way was extremely impressive. In the end, Clemson made 1 more big play that won the game.

But the refs took a touchdown from Ohio State. I wanted Clemson to win and despise Ohio State but they were robbed of 7 points. Not saying they would of won but it definitely changed the course of the game if not the outcome.
And the ruling on the field was a catch and fumble. It is unusual to see such a close call overturned on review.

This close game and being tested will help Clemson against LSU. Dabo will use that us against the world all week leading up to the game. I’ve said it all season Ive been super impressed with LSU but Coach O still isn’t a good coach he has got a whiz kid genius OC in Joe Brady and a generational player in the vein of Cam newton or Vince Young in Burrow. Dabo will outcoach him and Burrow will finally have a letdown game. O craps his pants in the biggest game. Clemson has been on this stage 4 times now in the last 5 years experience matters.

The whole process is screwed up. The refs are told not to blow the whistle if they aren't sure about turnovers. But then their "decision" can't be overturned unless it's 100% clear? Makes zero sense. A lot of times, the refs weren't sure in the first place when making the original call. So why can't it be changed?

FWIW...I'M torn on the controversy in this game. His toes did tap 3 times. I acknowledge that. But to me it still didn't seem like he was able to complete a catch since he tried to bring it in and couldn't

Zero chance Dabo leaves Clemson for Bama. Bama literally offers no incentive that Clemson can’t offer Dabo.

He’s built an annual championship program. Why would he leave for another championship program where he would live in Saban’s shadow until he won 4-5 natty’s at Bama?

Bama offers nothing to Dabo.

Not going to argue with you but I really do believe Dabo would leave Clemson for Bama.

That’s the only job he’d ever leave for.
