Jimmy's List:

Gruden
Petrino
Golden
Strong
Stoops
Mora, Jr.
Fisher

gruden is pipe dream
petrino would win games (with all his personal baggage) until a better offer comes along
golden has done nothing at miami
strong is just overrated imo
stoops, seriously? why would he leave?
mora jr, not leaving LA, especially now that he owns it
fisher not leaving the NFL, plus, he's barely a .500 winning coach, look it up.

Pretty sure he's talking about Jimbo at FSU.

He's not done real well at the u.

Yep. But Neven Shapiro ruined that for him.

I like him because he's been in worse situations than the one he'd find himself in at Tennessee. Temple was so poor in football, and support for football, that the Big East booted them out. Golden is the reason they are back where they are at right now. Addazio still benefits from the changes he made and the talent he brought into the program.

Miami? He's doing well considering the program is the NCAA version of a "Dead Man Walking." They are going to get hammered in a way that will make Penn State's punishment look like a slap on the wrist. They are going to get as close to the SMU treatment as we've ever seen.

The fact Golden even has those players buying in right now with that looming over their heads is far, far better than what we have right now.

He isn't the first choice. But he isn't the worst choice either.

Read the other day, and I can't vouch for it's validity, but he never beat a team that ended up with a winning record, while at Temple.

That's not true. He beat Connecticut the year they went to the Fiesta Bowl. Probably others, though I don't recall off the top of my head.

Jimbo Fisher is unhappy with the AD and the support he is getting from booster.

He was promised to get new facilities built or something and now the AD/boosters backed out on those promises.

Would be one to watch

That's how we roll. Go big, or go home.

Edit. Misread thought you had Gruden. On Golden, I agree.

Mark it well, if the UT hires Gruden, we will be stuck with late Fulmer 2.0. You people talking up Gruden and Peyton as coaches are overlooking Gruden's ineptitude on the field and Peyton's zero coaching experience.

But Peyton is smart, he won't coach college and said so. he comes to the UT and falter as coach and you folks will treat him as bad or worse than Dooley. He's smart to not coach here but support the UT in all other ways.

Gruden is not the answer, who agree to be on his staff anyway? Be warned you Grudenites, the man is all show and no go.

The roster that he built in Oakland, and the Superbowl he won in TB say different.

I respectfully and MASSIVELY DISAGREE. Golden would produce the exact results Dooley has.....please, Hart and co., be smarter than that

Totally blows me away that you can be negative and nitpick a coach of his caliber. Gruden blows any candidate mentioned away and the fact he is even considering us is a lift for our program which is at an all time low.

He won with other people's players. Then when his lack of true coaching ability got exposed he was dumped.

He totally built that roster in Oakland.

And if you wanna argue that point, So Tony Dungy couldn't win with those players and Gruden did. Who is a better coach?

(the other people's players arguement is pointless in the NFL) Everyone has the freeagents to level the playing field.

And there's the difference. You want to argue, I want to discuss. But I almost hope you get your late Fulmer clone, I mean Gruden as coach.

I don't understand your logic?
You said he won with someone elses players...

Tony Dungy (one of the most highly regarded coaches in the NFL) could not do it, but Gruden could.

That was the point you were trying to "discuss"

If not for tuck rule (Tom Brady) Gruden would have had Oakland in Super Bowl year before he went to Tampa.

Stop acting like NFL and college is the same - it is not.

Any Super Bowl head coach is light years better than what we've had the past 4 seasons.

It's terrible that we have hit rock bottom that Petrino is actually in our top 2. I know the guy can win, but I don't like him period. Sherman's advance through the south left less twisted railroad ties than Petrino will.

This team needs a proven veteran coach who emphasizes defense. We do not need the flavor of the day coach.
