No, 2015 UT was not flat out better. Not with Will Grier at QB. I’d agree if we had played them after he was dismissed. People forget that was a legitimate national championship contender and undefeated team until Grier was dismissed in late October and they lost by a TD to LSU and Fournette. We lost to a better team that year.

And I agree that the 2013 team should have started Worley, but we didn’t…which is why we lost, not some “curse.”

I’m not sure why 2014 should have been a win. It was just an ugly game, neither team was great, and Florida made the plays needed to win at the end.

Look at the individual NFL talent on those teams. We had some studs in 15-16 (and won in 16), but they always had more of it and they were better where it mattered most….QB. We only compared with them at QB when Dobbs was there. We went 1-1 with Dobbs, the one loss being to Will Grier, a future NFL starter.

We just weren’t good. That’s why Florida always beat us. I’d like for someone to point to a prior year in which, going in, Tennessee appeared to be as superior to Florida as we are going into 2023. It hasn’t happened in my lifetime.

I'm happy about the noon game to open the season. It'll be midnight here in the Philippines, so I get to watch it live as opposed to staying away from scores until the game is on YouTube
