'19 FL DE Khris Bogle (UF signee)

Bold prediction...Pruitt doesn't lose a single game vs UF during his tenure at UT.

And when he fails to do anything of relevance at Florida, then what?

Is that a forgone conclusion on here? Kind of like it was a forgone conclusion that Kirby would suck donkey peter? Because most people think he'll do well at Florida, including myself. I wanted him pretty bad here at Tennessee.

Mullen will gone in 5 years... Fans are expecting Spurrier or Meyer and they are going to get Zook.. We dodge a huge bullet when he passed on us

I don't think he'll be on Urban or Spurrier's level but he'll be better than Mcelwain and Zook. You don't accomplish what he did at Mississippi State and not be a really good coach. He doesn't alarm me like Chip Kelly or Frost would have though. I still think Frost would have been an absolute terror there.

it's Mississippi State. it's all relative.

Also look at the schedules that he played. Before the conference required a P5 OOC opponent, they had several years where they played a patsy OOC schedule. He also went to a bowl at 5-7.

Butch Jones clearly couldn't develop last year's team and struggled with handling high level talent, but he goes to 4 straight bowls at UT if we don't play at Oregon in year one. Essentially, MSU had 4 automatic wins. Not all records are created equal.

I just don’t think he’s a great coach, never did. As far as Kirby, we’ll see what he’s really got this year. He had the most loaded UGA roster in 30+ years in ‘17.

And was one play away from a national championship. They've recruited on Alabama levels for three years now. I doubt they're going anywhere.

well, it can't bode well when you're hosting kids on visits and they're throwing up "the U" sign, while saying FLorida sucks on video.

really putting that "there's no such thing as bad PR" deal to the test.

i can say that because we should know....:)

They got some kids going all “Antonutti” on the Gators? I’ll allow it.

Of course, it’s not full on “Antonutti” until they actually sign and then tell the entire state to go F itself while hanging out with some Georgia or FSU recruits, but it’s a start....

He lost to vandy year 1. Who knew that was the start of a trend. Mullen coached in the west. Jones coached in the east during its weakest period since inception.
Mullen>Jones.

That doesn't mean the bar is set all that high.

No. A “start” would be letting kid stuff go. :boredom:

Based on what evidence?

I'm really not trying to or am interested in defending dan Mullen.

But one has 2 nattys as an OC, and had a successful career as a HC at a perennial sec bottom feeder. And is now the head coach at one of the premier programs in the sec.

The other guided a perennial sec contender to its worst record ever, and is an intern at Alabama.

Opinions on Mullen aside, there is no debating their respective resumes.

You have to be kidding. First things first, Butch Jones was and is a below average football coach at this level, that's a fact. As far as Mullen is concerned, let's get it through our brains that he was at Mississippi State, where your facilities suck donkey dong, you can't recruit well, and you have zero football tradition. They're the Vanderbilt/Kentucky of the west. Guy won 8 or more games 5 times. Before Mullen got there, that had been done 11 times over 114 seasons. Took them to their first ever #1 ranking and went to a bowl game in 8 of his 9 years. Not any old slappy goes into Starkville, Mississippi and gets that done. In fact, no one ever had until Mullen.

I think you can sum all this up by saying he was great for MSU.

That doesn't mean it'll be good enough at UF, or would have been at TN.

And his resume isn't even comparable with Butch Jones'.

Mullens conference record disagrees with you. 33-39 is not an abover average coach. So he has been a good coach a couple of years at MSU. Big deal.

I didn't compare them. Wasn't the point. I get it was at MSU, but you just can't look at his record. I said this even when we were considering him as coach. His record is bolstered big time.

Yeah I mean I wouldn't be all that surprised if Florida runs him out of there on a rail in a few years just because it's Florida. They think it's their birthright to win championships. I think he's a very good football coach in this league based what he's accomplished over the entirety of his career. The evidence suggests exactly that, Big Orange Train or whatever your name is.

Yeah he's been a good coach in this league for going on 14 years if you include his time at Florida. He had some dynamic offenses there. I guess it's hard for some people to get it wrapped around their brain that he was at Mississippi freaking State lol. What were they 100 years prior to his tenure? It's not that hard.
