Mullen will gone in 5 years... Fans are expecting Spurrier or Meyer and they are going to get Zook.. We dodge a huge bullet when he passed on us
it's Mississippi State. it's all relative.
Is that a forgone conclusion on here? Kind of like it was a forgone conclusion that Kirby would suck donkey peter? Because most people think he'll do well at Florida, including myself. I wanted him pretty bad here at Tennessee.
I just dont think hes a great coach, never did. As far as Kirby, well see what hes really got this year. He had the most loaded UGA roster in 30+ years in 17.
well, it can't bode well when you're hosting kids on visits and they're throwing up "the U" sign, while saying FLorida sucks on video.
really putting that "there's no such thing as bad PR" deal to the test.
i can say that because we should know....
Also look at the schedules that he played. Before the conference required a P5 OOC opponent, they had several years where they played a patsy OOC schedule. He also went to a bowl at 5-7.
Butch Jones clearly couldn't develop last year's team and struggled with handling high level talent, but he goes to 4 straight bowls at UT if we don't play at Oregon in year one. Essentially, MSU had 4 automatic wins. Not all records are created equal.
They got some kids going all Antonutti on the Gators? Ill allow it.
Of course, its not full on Antonutti until they actually sign and then tell the entire state to go F itself while hanging out with some Georgia or FSU recruits, but its a start....

You have to be kidding. Let's first understand that he was at Mississippi State, where your facilities suck donkey dong, you can't recruit well, and you have zero football tradition. They're the Vanderbilt/Kentucky of the west. Guy won 8 or more games 5 times. Before Mullen got there, that had been done 11 times over 114 seasons. Took them to their first ever #1 ranking and went to a bowl game in 8 of his 9 years. Not any old slappy goes into Starkville, Mississippi and gets that done. In fact, no one ever had until Mullen.
You have to be kidding. First things first, Butch Jones was and is a below average football coach at this level, that's a fact. As far as Mullen is concerned, let's get it through our brains that he was at Mississippi State, where your facilities suck donkey dong, you can't recruit well, and you have zero football tradition. He lost to vandy year 1. Who knew that was the start of a trend. Mullen coached in the west. Jones coached in the east during its weakest period since inception.
Mullen>Jones.
That doesn't mean the bar is set all that high.
I think you can sum all this up by saying he was great for MSU.
That doesn't mean it'll be good enough at UF, or would have been at TN.
And his resume isn't even comparable with Butch Jones'.
Mullens conference record disagrees with you. 33-39 is not an abover average coach. So he has been a good coach a couple of years at MSU. Big deal.
