I’m not wishing harm on him and hope he enjoys his future HOWEVER it is getting old pretty quick with kids intentionally wearing the UT gear, stirring the pot, flirting, etc right up until the announcement only to follow the bag$. Just go up there and announce your school. The unnecessary and misleading drama gets old. And I said what I said, I don’t think relationships mean as much to their family as they lead on. At least they’ll all be well taken care of in their beachfront villas now!

For sake of argument, is there a point where even if you had it, you'd say "no".

Like, you could buy your kid a Ferrari because you're rich, but you're not going to buy your 16 year old kid a Ferrari?

If you knew that kid you're going after doesn't give a damn about anything other than the money, do you go after him?

These are the questions every staff is asking.

For a little perspective, we are a 7-6 team getting and finishing in the top two for multiple 5 star prospects this year. We got spoiled with Nico. We’re not going to get them all. If we keep the trajectory upward this coming season I think a few more of these bounce our way. Sounds like we’ve got one hopping in the boat within the hour. It’s gonna be okay.

Thankfully I’ve been following recruiting to know we celebrate the ones we get and forget the ones we don’t.

Clearly the kid took the bigger bag. All that talk about family and relationships was total BS. He was all about “hAvInG hIs MoMeNt” as opposed to Nico just came out an announced after his visit. Good luck to this kid and the cost of living in Miami for his entire family.

It’s the world we live in unfortunately. Instant gratification has taken over the corporate world, education, sports and politics. What happened month ago seems like a year ago with the speed of social media.

And while I don’t follow the details of recruiting, I’m def disappointed in our recent recruiting misses. Tn won’t become nationally relevant (or even relevant in the SEC) if we don’t consistently recruit I’m the top 5-10 annually.

Those that most commonly used to make frequent donations were pretty much incentivized to spend their sports dollars elsewhere and have. Guessing they will limit their involvement to academic related pursuits.

This has been explained if you are paying attention. Spyre just had a virtual Q&A last week where all members were invited. They send emails and invite certain members to events where players show up to engage with members. At a certain level, they send a box with a shirt and other items.

It’s all very open if you want to know.

Sucks, I know everyone wants a commit as soon as possible but this is a situation where I think if we get him on campus for a game it changes alot. Miami is a high school crowd compared to Neyland.

However you say it, and however many times, what difference will it make that you said it? It is what it is. We were a three win team a couple of seasons ago. We weren't going to be beating Bama and UGA immediately. And we weren't GUARANTEED a right to all/any of the 5 stars this year.

Our recruiting has been markedly better this year than any SANE individual should have predicted. It's a huge deal that we've been in on so many 5 stars, and VN goes into emo, wrist-slitting mode because somehow some of us have decided that we should feel a right to a quick rebuild.

So... Say it however you want. We're rebuilding. Everyone put your big boy pants on and let's handle the PROCESS with some dignity and rationality.
