Florida is going after Willie Taggart

I guess we should start rooting for Scott Frost to win every game left and make it to a New Years Six bowl.

It will be interesting to see if Florida waits till January to name a coach. Cause you have to think Scott Frost isn't gonna bail on UCF while they have a huge bowl game coming up.

If Randy Shannon wins out, he could very well get that job. Underrated coach in my opinion.

Actually I've heard it probably 10,000 times before you said it. So you can join all those people in saying I told you so if it doesn't happen.

We'll be awaiting your apology. As far as Taggart, good on Florida for targeting them.

Florida guy. Knows the state and was a steady recruiter there. I think this is the equivalent of a Butch hire for them. Surprised they are aiming for likes of Taggart and Norvell.

I read that Norvell is the top choice. This comes from the same reporter who reported the McElwain buyout talks first so you have to think he knows something.

Taggart is a great coach, but he's not leaving Oregon after 1 season. He has lined up one of the best recruiting classes in Oregon history, too.

Taggart is a “great coach”?? Lol. Dude is 45-49 all-time. Is he a good coach, a coach with potential, maybe an up and comer? Sure, I suppose. But great??? Nah.

I sure as hell hope he is Florida’s #1 target. That’d be great for our Vols.

Only school that I can see him leaving UCF for in a big bowl game like that is Nebraska.

Florida fans are going insane about wanting Frost and we have seen so many coaching changes over the decades that the guy that the fans want the most almost always is not the guy to become the head coach.

Tom Herman is the only slam dunk hire in many years for what fans were calling for.

Watch the Florida interim coach run the table in NOvember and the AD goes dumbo like the LSU AD did gets named the head coach after others turn Florida down.

Could happen. I'd take Shannon over Taggert. They both can recruit that state. That's the risk you take with that. Shannon is the type of guy that could win the locker room.

He could win the locker room but as a head coach he absolutely sucks...Ask Miami...If you can't win there with all the top recruits right in your back yard then you can't win anywhere...That being said I hope and pray they do hire him...Early christmas present.

Best case scenario. He goes 4-0 and the players love them some Randy. Cause headache for UF. Sometimes firing still in the season doesn't help a bit. Teams are still playing and UF just jumped the shark, or like their former coach humped the shark.

Gonna be tough to do that...They got Mizzou next in the cold weather then South Carolina and UAB which is playing some good ball lately and end the season with FSU...That game will be like 2 drag queens slap fighting each other lol

If UF players like their interim guy they could try to pressure the staff to hire him. I have seen it happen before. That is another reason why you don't fire people during the season without some scandal type of stuff going on.

Look at USCw as another example.

Well, if only that is how it happened. Who exactly would you hire and exactly how much do you think it would cost? Interesting enough...LSU's top 2 targets, which were slam dunks(?)are a combined 6-9 this season. If you include their fourth target....a combined 7-17. Jimbo, Herman, and Fedora.

Interesting that Coach O has somehow gotten 6 wins...they are in a tougher conference...and LSU fired their coach. (I will note texas also fired their coach)

2 of the 3...homeruns might not make it to bowl game and its possible none of them do...texas has some tough games coming up.

Have you considered the possibility that maybe you don't know how this works as well as you think?

I for one have no idea whether it will work out for LSU longer term -the personnel is not where it needs to be, but they are surviving. I can honestly say there is very little doubt in my mind that Les would have been a disaster this year with this personnel....not sure Jimbo or Herman or Fedora would be doing better.

Florida and Tennessee do not have quite the same options LSU did, LSU was happy with a good portion of its coaching staff....Shannon is not a bad dc....there really isn't many options out there. Anyone can fire...hiring is the hard part.
