Florida Player Credit Card Rumors

I think you're minimizing or forgetting... Two years ago he was responsible for one of the most unbelievable plays in Gator history and the history of the UF-UT rivalry when he took it to the house with a little over a minute left, on 4th and 13, as a True Freshman playing in his third college game ever. The kid is a phenomenal player. Tennessee, Michigan and everyone else stands a better chance versus Florida if he's not playing.

Why in the hell our defensive coordinator at the time was spying the QB, I will never understand. There's a reason Vol fans refer to that as 4th and Jancek

I understand what it feels like wanting a rival team to kick a player off, especially a great one like Callaway. I mentioned in another thread, Jamies Winston and Dalvin Cook should have been booted from FSU and I raised hell when they weren't. Not because I'm some righteous law and order guy, but because my team stood a better chance of beating FSU without them. So I know where you're coming from.

The real punishment for Callaway will be sliding from a high #1 pick to late second round. He's costing himself millions.

Yep He should have noticed that with the Bama players this past draft

Yes he did that game, nothing last year. I'd put 20 on it he gets in trouble again by our game.

Wait, nothing last year? So 4 catches for 134 yards, with two of them being bombs that set up scores is nothing?

Okay, well pay no attention to him when y'all see him in the Swamp in about a month.

Knock on wood and cross your fingers Mac locks him in his dorm.

Frankly, if Florida is as good and deep as I, and many experts think at WR, you may see him have a tough time getting his spot back.

Ancient history, man! There aren't even any folks on VolNation who were alive way back then.

But last year, we can talk about last year. How about we discuss, umm, what? Hey, how about punt returns! :)

Agree. If you have someone younger, just as good, and not getting in trouble that kid has a good arguement for playing time.

Disappointing. Callaway, with his prior problems in particular. As another said, he's costing himself a lot of money.

This was a really interesting article that in an aside notes the mental/neural aspects linking athletes and "trouble". The title of the article is "Quickness & Absolute Speed Vs Sports Speed & Explosiveness!" My take away is that some athletes don't take time to think. They just do what "they want" at the moment. Obviously, not all athletes do this off the football field - and for those that don't, I'm guessing they had some influence in their life while growing up as a child/teenager that taught them to regulate their behavior outside the sports arena. Unfortunately, not all kids have the benefit of that guiding influence as they grow. I'm not suggesting there shouldn't be accountability now - but it's difficult to teach an old dog new tricks. I think coaches probably understand the predicaments of some of their players better than most media/fans and why they put up with the criticism of "lax discipline". It's just the way it is. jmo.

C. The level of the neural impulses being sent. The greater the levels of impulse, the more motor units get activated.

This is important for either great displays of strength, power or sports type athletic displays. It should be noted that fast sprinters are distinguished by a high level of neural discharge from the central nervous system. If your nervous system was a battery the level would refer to the amount of "juice" the nervous system puts out.

When you put "A" and "C" together you get motor impulses that are sent quickly at a high level. This is characteristic of athletic displays such as acceleration, jumping, sprinting, etc.

The amount of juice the system puts out is related to nervous system excitability and also tends to be well correlated with emotional excitability, temper, etc., - which is probably why there are lots of potentially good athletes in the prison system!

The more juice the more muscle recruitment. During competition the ability of the system to put out this type of energy is a huge advantage but during life it can complicate things.

Darick rogers 2.0

But much, much worse. I'm all for 2nd chances unless someone does something too heinous, but this kid has ****ed up at every possible chance since he got to UF. I have never seen a player get as many chances as him.

I thought it was just during the Myer tenure that the inmates were running the asylum, but this seems to be a systematic issue with the University of Florida.

It's honestly sickening. I look forward to being able to keep the high ground both morally and on the scoreboard versus UF the second year in a row.

What kind of message is Jim Mcelwain sending down in Gainesville? "We don't tolerate bad behavior, unless you can help us win games?"

Oh stop. The NCAA is loaded with players who have hit women, allegedly raped girls, DUI's by the dozen, committed assaults, been involved in grand theft, etc etc etc.

Florida happens to have a really, really good one right now who can't keep his name clear. Would you like me to give you a history lesson on Tennessee players involved in "heinous" incidents while at UT or shortly after? I'd prefer not to, but you have tons of examples just like every other elite program in the country.

Please tell me if a player accused of rape (extremely private and behind scenes until girl lawyered up and then UF became almost mad about it), hanging out with drug dealing pedophiles and being high and in possession of drugs and then committing felony fraud and purchasing goods with stolen funds. 1 game suspension.

I agree that there are marginal or even bad dudes in football but his case and lack of discipline is ridiculous.

It's an old article, but still sheds some light

Are you serious? This took a 30 second Google search. And while he was technically a "former" Vol, activities alleged had been taking place for some time prior to his arrest.
