He made the finals in Nashville in 1991, but lost the championship game to Alabama. Allan Houston's shots were hitting the front iron in the second half from playing 40 minutes each game including "losers' bracket" night. He scored 98 points in the tournament, still a record, and won the tournament MVP award.

But with that said, if we don't get more production from 3 from Igor, and if Mashack/Dubar are unable to contribute offensively, we may not be a top #10 team. We really need those guys to improve as the season progresses. Otherwise, a team that can shut down Lanier and be competitive on the boards will beat us every time.

Lanier missed a lot of open looks he normally doesn't miss. Not sure their defense had anything to do with it

Just like our football team, the schedule did have something to do with it. I also think we might have a similar issue with leadership and dealing with road environments. Then again I wonder how we'd have looked if Phillips had been full go and Estrella not injured. Still, you're never as bad as you think or as good as people tell you...or is it the other way around? Anyway, it's January. Plenty of time for this team to grow and come together. You get stronger due to your trials. It's easy to run from the front. Let's see how they deal with some adversity.

We're 14-1 and have a leadership issue?

If you don't have a gauge on Barnes by now, I would say it's time for you to transition to assisted living

Great teams lose a game occasionally, but great teams don't EVER get blown out by 30 pts. and totally embarrassed like that. No we are not a great team. We are a pretty good team at best.

Talking about on the floor leadership when we get into these hostile SEC venues like UF and Auburn. ZZ has been there and done that, but all these new comers haven't faced these kinds of situations. Let's be honest. There are road games then there are games like last night. Plus, UF is a tad better than our transfers usual conference foes. Okpara being a possible exception. Maybe mental toughness would have been a better descriptor.

Yep...right now. Teams are allowed to get better tho. I had us getting spanked at UF. Didn't see a 30 point humiliation, but I felt we'd rebound vs texas and grab an important conference road win. Now, however, I wonder what this kind of beating will do to the teams collective psyche. Said elsewhere that it will be interesting to see what kind of competitors we have and how they respond to this. Saturday will tell us a lot about who and what they really are as a team. If we still had aidoo and ON on the team, I'd be very pessimistic about Saturday. Now I'm curious.

It might turn out to be fools gold. I have some real concerns after that game, but 4th place in the SEC is capable of winning it all this year. If it’s fool’s gold, we won’t be finishing 4th in the conference.

You were last seen after the UNC game last year, then popped in to fahr Barnes after the SEC tournament game. And here you are again. Hmmmm. Maybe there is a pattern.

You do realize at Florida is the 2nd most difficult game left on our schedule? Only at Auburn is rated higher.

No team has gone undefeated in men's NCAA since 1975-76 with Indiana.... Fool's gold is thinking a 14-1 team is somehow bad because they lost 1 road game where they shot the worst of any team in the Rick Barnes era.

You just knew that the vultures would be circling on VolNation last night.

It's as if some people never played sports or even watch with half a clue. Games like that happen to the best of teams, and it's one game where good teams learn from and then wipe the slate clean and move on, which is what Barnes & Co. will do.

The Vols were just flat, and when the shots weren't falling early they pressed, creating a snowball effect. There was no lack of effort, just lack of execution. The shots were there that we usually make regularly, and the misses gave UF a ton of runout opportunities leading to easy buckets. They are an athletic group with size and hammered the boards hard on both ends.

I believe we'll see a much different team on Saturday and a different story when Florida comes to TBA.

Maybe they were thinking that. This should bring them back to earth. This can become a good thing. Current injuries to Mashack and Phillips I believe is big problem right now. Just a bad shooting night, happens in BB. LV's win streak ended Sunday with a bad shooting day and that was in TB. No excuse for that.

I wish that was the case, and maybe it was for a few shots. But I felt like Florida did a good job of perimeter defense. I didn't see the cuts and switches that we normally do to open up free shooters. Many shots were contested

Losing a game is one thing. If we had lost by 10-15 pts. that would be losing and wouldn't be too big of a deal given the road environment and playing another top 10 team. Getting obliterated by thirty, getting your rear end kicked without even putting up a fight, and having no competitive fire, and zero inside offensive presence is entirely something else. What we showed last night was utterly embarrassing!

Teams that are #1 seed, national championship contenders, may have off nights and lose a game here and there, but they don't EVER get obliterated and embarrassed like that. All you have to do is look at the rebounding disparity 55-38, and you will see that we were outworked, outhustled and played with a lack of intensity and effort. It's one thing to have an off shooting night and lose, but it's another thing entirely to get outworked and outcompeted. There is no excuse for being outworked and outhustled and allowing yourself to be manhandled.
