Why does that matter?

We will be the number two SEC team out of playoff regardless of what LSU and Bama do.

LSU wins, they are in the playoff. They lose, they drop below us with a 3rd loss.

We will go Orange Bowl as long as we finish 10-2 today.

LSU with a loss in Atlanta won’t stay ranked ahead of us.

Clemson defense scares me. Almost as potent as our offense. Now their offense vs our defense would be ugly both ways. Lol

if I was not a UT fan on outside if you get beat as bad as we did by a mediocre team we are just not playoff material. Shoot I felt this was about Oregon but at least they got beat by #1 and I still didn’t think there was anyway they should have been in the conversation. JMO

After SC I just want to blow out Vandy and beat up on some chump in a bowl. Get 11 wins and continue building and improving.

I think the Hooker injury will be far more detrimental to our playoff judgement than the loss to USC if mass chaos happened where 3-5 teams a head of us lose and bring us back into convo.

USC loss was bad bad bad, but the loss of Hooker hurts more when evaluating our resumé vs other teams

The problem is Bama is ahead of us and the committee has decided that win doesn’t matter. So even if you somehow had TCU lose twice, USC lose twice, Clemson lose to UNC and Oregon lose today…Alabama still gets in ahead of us.

I'm not sure how you come to conclusion "wins don't matter".... We were number 5 and lost by 25 to a 4 loss team. Are you saying that Bama should have also dropped in the rankings for winning the same weekend we loss just to stay behind us?

That makes no sense. We are lucky to have dropped only 5 spots after that loss. Saying Bama should have dropped spots even with a win is clownish.

I should clarify. I’m saying head to head doesn’t matter. If we both are 10-2 and it’s between us for the #4 spot, it’s going to Alabama despite the head to head win.

Kansas State loses to Kansas placing Texas in the Big 12 not important championship game. Texas wins by a very large margin and is the 4th and last team selected for the playoff....................I'm beyond delusional by the way. Happy Saturday!

Nice scenario. Vols need to win state championship today. Need a weaker bowl opponent and get to 11 wins. Finish in top 7 nationally and keep recruiting. The way the Vols lost the two SEC East road games prohibits them from being taken seriously at this point but indeed it was a terrific season to date if they can regroup and play competitive football.

That's always a possibility with TN's offense. Also possible with TN's defense is Vandy gets 7 TDs and a field goal.
