For Chaos' (and giggles) Sake (Blue Font)

Here is what Tennessee would need:

2 vs 3- Ohio State vs Michigan needs to be a margin like Tennessee vs Georgia / MICHIGAN DELIVERS 22 POINT BEATDOWN

4 - TCU losing to a 4-7 Iowa State would send them in a free fall in the rankings. TCU has been on a high risk, low reward run these last few weeks where a win doesn't do much for them, but a loss essentially ends their playoff hopes

5 - LSU loss vs A&M or UGA / THE FIGHTING JIMBO'S TAKE DOWN THE BAYOU BENGALS

6 - USC loss vs ND or PAC12 title game

7 - Bama not really important.

8 - Clemson loss vs one of the Carolina's... Either team would drop them a bit in rankings with UNC's loss last night / FIRST DOMINO TO FALL

9 - Oregon loss vs Oregon State / DOWN GOES DUCKY TO THE BEAVE

10 - Tennessee goes nuclear with Joe Joe Milton throwing 7 sixty yard TD's to Squirrel and Merrill today

Updated again..... Can we get lucky with the Fighting Irish mounting a comeback?

This is next level prophetic.

USC, OSU, Bama, Clemson win in ACC, Champ, TCU one loss will all be voted ahead of us. One loss MI also. We needed Penn St to lose to MI ST if we wanted to be considered before them after tonight. However, if 4 loss Iowa beats Michigan in the BIG 10 Championship, that's another story. We still needed USC and TCU to lose tonight, and we would have been alive still. Still a lot to celebrate. We should be #7 after this weekend.

I doubt we win our bowl game. Milton threw just over 50%. If it was the rain, we will find out that game. To me, he is just not a good QB. He can hit the broad side of a barn, but not the part he is throwing at and whatever part he hits will have a hole in it. Is Squirrel alive?

I have never seen a guy dancing to music while they are waiting on a play call or after they just threw 50% bad passes. His head is always distracted by "the noise". If Milton has a bad bowl game, Iamaleava gets here early and starts learning and performing, and Heupel doesn't do what we saw him do last year and stick to the wrong guy, we may see Iamaleava start as a Freshman.

Frankly, I'd rather see that than another season with a struggling QB who has had plenty of chances to prove he is the guy.

So much wrong with your post…. Penn State??? They are irrelevant…. They have zero good wins and lost to the only decent teams on their schedule.

Clemson at 2 losses and UNC at 3 losses are irrelevant. Clemson is likely a 15-20 ranking after today.

Michigan secured their playoff spot today.

If TCU loses next week, they are out of the playoff. They won’t get rewarded with a playoff spot with a loss on a schedule filled with 3 or more loss teams…. TCU can only make the playoff as a 13-0 team. They lose to K State and they are donezo.

We will be no. # 5 after this weekend.

You are flat wrong. I am well aware of what happened today with Michigan. BUT, this was a kid what WE needed to happen if we were to have a chance to still play in the playoffs.

Penn St is both OSU and MI's only ranked quality win. Without that, you can argue a 2 loss TN team should get the nod over a 1 loss non conference BIG 10 champ. Especially if the winner of that game lost to Iowa in the Big 10 Championship A PSU loss to Michigan St would lessen that quality win. The committee considers these things. OSU would get the nod before TN still, especially if Michigan wins out. If Penn St drops the MI St game, OSU has less of an argument over TN.

A 2 loss Clemson who wins the ACC and lost by one point to a team that trounced Tennessee would surely get the nod over a 2 loss, non conference champ or even contender in Tennessee.

Wins matter. Ohio state has 2 quality wins vs PSU and Notre Dame. Tennessee has 2 very good wins over Bama and LSU. Those wins trounce the Penn State and Notre Dame wins.

Quality of wins matter. Not sure why people have been ignoring the committee when they say this every week.

Clemson is likely to be around the 12-15 ranked spot. They will likely get an unranked UNC team next week in the ACC title. There is no world where they beat an unranked UNC team and shoot up into the top 4 rankings from the 12-15 range just because they win the ACC Title.

I forgot OSU beat ND which just furthers my point. They also look at what the teams do that each teams beat.

That is why I said PSU needed to lose to MSU. It negates the quality win for both MI and OSU. Obviously that doesn't matter to the winner of that game as long as they don't go and lose to IOWA. We also needed LSU to win. They just lost to A&M. That is the opposite of what we needed to happen.

Notre dame finishes at 8-4 and likely stays inside top 25. Penn State prolly goes to 9-10 spot just because of the losses by Clemson and Oregon today. That’s not that impressive compared to other wins by other teams.

But at the end of the day, you can’t get nuked at home in the worst margin in decades and expect to drop 2-3 spots….. Especially when that team is a team you need to beat to secure your spot. Committee has been pretty clear on this all year since rankings debuted.

NC will still be ranked just inside the top 25 I think. Regardless a 2 loss Clemson ACC champ gets in over a 2 loss TN non conference championship contender IMO. Especially when the team that barely beat them trounced TN. But that would have required USC to lose and TCU to lose tonight and the BIG 12 Championship and everyone else that has lost like Oregon to lose. It also would have required Washington to lose (who is losing). If also would have required OSU or MI to lose to Iowa. That would have cleared the way for Clemson to jump TN and into the playoffs with an ACC championship. But now I think OSU with 1 loss gets the nod over Clemson and TN. Had PSU lost to MI St., it would have lessened the resume of OSU. Really we needed OSU to win that game and the rest I have spoken to take place. Michigan would only have claim to have beaten a team that would have just lost to MSU. Which is why that loss was important. With MI winning, it changes the would be could be. Doesn't matter at this point because so much else that needed to happen didn't.

Are you referring to OSU? True but the loss to SC was way worse. OSU stays in front of TN.
