For the record folks, randy sanders is offensive

I think we have Jones for the next 12-15 years. Then, I think the OC who will likely be the best head coach is Roper. I am afraid he will get the offense at Florida reved up and will save Mushcamp's job. When he does that, he will be the next hot head coach.

Kurt roper? Another whipping boy of the minions?

What is so offensive about Randy Sanders?

At least that is what I expected to read about from the thread title.

Then I read you want him as HC. Though he is a VFL, he has how many years of experience as a HC? Zero.

Randy Sanders was a scapegoat for Fulmer who never allowed him full control of the offense while at Tennessee. Most don't realize this but Sanders is one of the brightest guys to ever coach at UT, he's a genesis. He would have made a much better head coach than Dooley.

Thanks Captain Obvious!

Randy is a good coach that gave his all to TN as a player and coach. He is a true VFL. He has not forgot where he came from. He grew up and played high school ball in east TN at Morristown East. He is the guest speaker at a fundraiser for the Morristown Boys and Girls Club Tuesday June 24.
Go listen to Randy speak and support a great organization at the same time.

I've never liked those 'Canes but glad Randy is doing work in his hometown as long as he doesn't poach a Little Man Stewart for FSU.

Coordinator/ qb coach of a national championship team. Is it possible that he will establish himself enough to eventually become our head coach? I know there are a lot of necks that don't understand football and don't like him, but if Fsu wins another title soon with his leadership, he is positioning himself nicely. I like butch a lot, but if he become very successful, michigan may come calling. Just things to think about. Go randy! Go vols!:hi:

They scored 10 points in that game. We lost that game because of our offense, not or defense.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

We lost that game because Bray and Da'rick did not want to go to a low tier bowl. IIRC Bray made that comment after the loss.

KY played a wr at qb and won....pathethic

I think you will find Randy's ability to communicate with kids today is what makes him a really good position coach. He was great at TN when he was the recruiting coordinator. He did become a fall guy and took one for Coach Fulmer. Coach Cut did come back and have some improvement in one year but then left and the slide continued without Sanders. Hard to blame a man that not even been there! I would love to see Randy back at Tennessee at some point. To come back as a head coach I think he would have to be a head coach at a smaller school and do a good job there before coming to the SEC as a head coach!:salute:

I think it is a fair question? Obviously, jimbo Fisher likes him, or he would not be his offensive coordinator. Let that sink in. Randy sanders is the o coordinator for the national champion, but somehow, his detractors point to the fact that he failed at kentucky! Oh boy! Now, is there anybody that wouldn't fail at kentucky? All I'm saying is that I hope he can resurrect his career and perhaps be a viable coaching option for us, just in case he is needed. We are working on our fourth head coach in seven years uou know.
We have a few fans that are already questioning butch, so I hope randy does exceedingly well. I think butch is going to be just fine, but I don't know for sure.:hi:

He didn't just fail at UK. He failed at UT and cost the guy you seem to worship his job.

I said a GOOD ad keeps a short list? True or False?
True. And if he's a good AD... Sanders isn't anywhere on it.

I don't understand the hostility.:peace2:

Maybe it had to do with you insinuating that someone must not be a fan or must be a "neck" if they simply recognize that the Peter Principle applies to Sanders. He's a very good QB coach. That's it.

OR maybe it is because Sanders was a MAJOR contributor to the decline of UT football eventually into the mess it is now.

In fairness to Sanders, I will mention the Clawson fiasco of '08 and the possibility that no OC besides Cutcliffe was going to be successful working under Fulmer whose philosophy centered around an ultra-conservative, basic attack of run first (and second)...Now, I will no longer be replying to threads started by BeattieFeathers. His threads are so ridiculous that it's hard to ignore them but we must! His nonsense is making a mess of this forum.

Pete Carroll, Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban, probably Meyer, Malzahn looks really good early on,...

Let's wee what happens with malzahn, but you really only have saban and spurrier on your very short list. Carroll is in the nfl who incidentally was a failure prior to his USC gig. You qualify Meyer.......here is a news flash for you. It is doubtful we are going to hire a coach that will have the success of spurrier or saban. You live in fantasy land sir! Support butch for the next four years and we should be ready to rock and roll.

Then you do what programs that want to win championships do. You go on to the next guy.

:eek:lol::loco::yahoo:... someone who thinks Fulmer's best years were ahead of him when he was fired and that Jones replacement should be Randy Sanders... is accusing me or anyone else of living in a fantasy world.

You have a problem with the truth because I have said neither. We have one national title in 64 years sir. Yet I recall many good memories of winning big games, beating our rivals, winning exciting bowl games that dif not involve winning a championship. While it should be the goal, I am not going to hold our head coach to an unattainable standard. Your list of elite coaches has spurrier and saban. Good luck with your misery......:hi:

I never even considered it, but I honestly think Randy would have had us win 9 games in '08 had Fulmer given him a 2nd chance.

Since the scheme would be the same/ familiarity/ yadda yadda yadda

More posts are needed to start a thread apparently. Idiots, I guess are going to keep on keeping on.

Could someone please do an IP addy search on Senior Drill and BeattieFeathers?? They sure seem like two peas in a pod.
