Forbes is calling you out, Hatvol

Yes, everyone needs to be careful in here. Fat ass may call us out in Griffith's next piece of garbage blog.

I miss giving Griff hell here. He's by far one of the easiest people to make fun of in all the world.

It's really a shame he came down with vaginitis and refuses to come on here and post now.

I'm really shocked that Forbes cares what anyone on a message board says. Apparently the players read these things and he felt the need to defend his players.

though he's built a modest resume and his style fits the European mode of more physical defenses well.

This is an excerpt from Griffith's blog in reference to Steven Pearl. It's really sad if he's actually this stupid. First, Steven Pearl has about as much chance playing European ball as Tanner Wild. Second, when the hell did Europe go into the "mode of more physical defenses." Just pathetic.

I was actually going to say the exact same thing earlier. It makes zero sense. European's are known for their finesse style of play a la Dirk and no defense a la Mike D'antoni.

I guess we all must have missed Europe's evolution to prison style defense.

You folks just don't understand that Griff is a basketball guru and knows every thing about UT, as well as international basketball. Take no prisoners defense is the European style---Griff says so. I just can't wait till Pearl graduates and becomes an European star.

I have no doubt Pearl can find somewhere in Europe to play but to say his style of play is "European" is just ignorant.

The only reason Griff says his style is "european" is because he is white. He has no Division 1 talent, so I would say his play style would be "rec league" IMO.

That being said, I do not dislike Steven. He isn't the one who's making the descision of putting him out on the floor. He's basically Dane Bradshaw, but with no offensive talent or 1/2th of the basketball IQ.

He plays as hard as he can when he's on the floor. If we could get Hopson to play as hard, he would be a much better player.

Actually, Euroleague ball is more physical than the NBA since the crackdown on hand-checking. American players are finding this out in Turkey. I'm also sure that Pearl could play in some league in Belgium or another backwater basketball league. There are a ton of no-name Americans littering teams all over Europe. My cousin had a deal to play in Cyprus before it fell through at the last minute and he only played D-III ball.

I've given steven my fair share of hell. But there were times last year that he appeared to be the only person on the floor who gave a damn.

The talent is not there, but the kid does get the most out of what ability he does have.

Agreed. I like Steven, while he really cant play basketball for squat, he gives 110% every time his feet hit the floor.

I have got to give him props for that. Probably because Bruce beats him or something... lol

is it just me or does anyone else find it strange that forbes would be commenting on whats written on chat boards?

I can't believe I read every post in this thread.
Some of ya'll need to learn to use the Ignore function. I've simply blocked only one poster and the boards are much more enjoyable. Stop whining and assuming and just ignore.

With that said - I can't believe no one has called out Thy Poster Who I Shalt Not Name on the Melvin Goins aspect. He states he really didn't call him out and only said he wasn't better than Maze. Not according to that thread.

Now if everyone will stop quoting his posts, I'll be eternally gracious.

Oh....Forbes is a SuperDouche (FREAK - I can call him names, right? Since he isn't a known poster on here?)

Eh, he calls him mediocre. With Forbes responding, you would think he compared his athleticism to a seas cucumber.

I think there were a couple of references to 'wasting a scholarship and 'tanning bed Bruce' but nothing above sophomore attempts at humor. Certainly nothing to get called out on.

It could be a call out though seeing as how Writer 32 also posts here and with Forbes knowing this,,, but not about Goins. Maybe a call out in general for his comments about the staff and players in general.

great reading though!
