Former UT commit & Sevier County star Dorian Banks murdered

It is if you want support for the cause (which is necessary to enact meaningful changes). If you're marching because a kid got shot trying to take a gun from a cop then it's worthless and tone deaf. The numbers simply don't match the narrative being pushed

The key phrase is "right off the people peaceably to assemble" which is always supported. What's currently happening does not seem to match

My response was from the post that was making fun of LeBron James and Colin Kaepernick. Glad to hear you are in full support of those peaceful protests. You are a man of your word, so go support them. You do realize that the most recent protests have nothing to do with someone assaulting a police officer. George Floyd was killed because a police officer suffocated him while he was in handcuffs in broad daylight. Breanna Taylor was shot in her home and had never committed a crime due the reckless actions of police officers. Both instances involved an abuse of force and excess in force. So you are mistaken on the narrative being pushed. Again, my point is listen to what our minority Americans are telling us. It is way to easy to write them off as a wrong narrative, when you don't want to hear what is being said.

Actually its a very small but loud portion of the country, heck it's even a very small portion of African Americans.

You must have actually have your head in the sand....................... You are on this site because I assume you are a sports enthusiast, well I think you will agree that the sports world has been very vocal. All sports, across the world. Heck, even ESPN was covering the Breanna Taylor decision. This issue is a huge topic for debate in the Presidential Election. To suggest that it only affects "a very small portion of African Americans" is delusional at best. But hey ignore it, maybe it will get better. Maybe that very small portion of "uppity" minorities will eventually learn their place!

The police are shooting people, sometimes in their sleep, and getting away with it and now people are rioting. There is a cause and effect you are missing and I know you won't knowledge. I can't wait to vote the hatemonger out of White House. He's just empowering people like you to be the true bigots they are. This is a football message board. Take your hate back to your facebook page.
But in this case he was killed by other black men over drugs so WTF does that have to do with PRESIDENT TRUMP or anything else for that matter. ALWAYS RESPECT THE PRESIDENT NO MATTER WHO IS THERE!

Don't break the law and you will not get shot! Breaking the law consists of everything from speeding, jay walking, resisting arrest, counterfeiting, robbery, drugs, trespassing, weapons etc...all of which can get you shot! YOU CANNOT DO THE CRIME AND THEN QUESTION THE MEANS OF WHAT HAPPENS. DON'T BE OUT AT 1AM IN THE MORNING, BREAK THE LAW AND EXPECT GOOD THINGS TO HAPPEN!

RIP Mr Banks and sorry this has happened to you.

Oh, another keyboard tough-guy. Know your type. Have a good day Bobby P.

Still a minuscule percentage of the population. Turn off the TV, get off social media and get out and you will see that the vast majority of people of all races are just going about their day as normal. Well as normal as can be.

Geez, I mean I can tell your stubborn and don't like counterpoints. But your point was that a black man who happens to be the Attorney General has absolute power to declare there is no such thing as institutional racism. It's like saying Donald Trump is not a racist because Hershel Walker said he wasn't. (I hope that was not your post because that was monumentally stupid). The point is..... read this very carefully........ that a large portion of our Country is hurting, crying out for help, justice and equality. To ignore it is a mistake. To say that it does not exist is a mistake. To say it can't be true because there is Black Attorney General is to ignore the pain that people are feeling. It is called empathy. You hear it, but you don't listen. You hear it, but you don't care. You hear, but dismiss it because you don't feel it's true. But athletes kneeling, wearing BLM, that somehow bothers you. Why do you think there are protests? Why do you think there are riots? You don't believe institutional racism exists, but millions of people are crying out differently. As a patriot I feel like it is time to hear it, listen to it, respect it and help bring about equality for everyone. That is a democracy.

I love counter points as long as they are facts and not driven by emotional outrage . Speaking of emotions, your reply either assumed a lot about me or I blacked out and started telling you what I believe and don’t believe , how I think and feel . When we stop blaming others , start taking self responsibility for our own actions , when we stop looking for victimhood and claiming all the problems life throws at us on a system that we can all work within if we made the effort and decided that we aren’t going to settle , then our ..“ Federal Constitutional Republic“ will be a much better place .

Great idea. Thanks for the insight. So if I can't see it directly on my way from work to home it doesn't exist. I like that idea, I compliment your ability to compartmentalize and ignore everything but what you actually see first hand. Ignore the news, ignore what is happening outside of our own bubble. Thanks man.... you are certainly the globe setter. This does explain a lot about you.

Well I think it is ok for us to blame others for the death of George Floyd and Breanna Taylor. But hey if you think it was their fault they are dead, then you and I have a different view of citizenship in the United States of America. Good day, we are just different people and apparently we will never understand each other. No need to respond.... this is tiresome.

What do you think the percentage is?

Lol I’ll take that as an apology for the assumptions in your previous post , since you can’t bring yourself to be responsible for your own actions .

Almost the entire country was united after GF was killed. Then it turned ugly around the country and mainstream USA separated themselves from it

BT is dead because of over-policing the WoD but not really because of skin color. If I open fire at cops entering my home then I expect them to shoot back. It's what they are trained to do. They do it to all races

Well they are losing money.... it's because fans aren't in attendance. Show me some empirical evidence that it is related to the social justice issues. I'll be waiting here in bated breath.

Not that I give a rats furry butt what you are waiting on, but look at the tv ratings.

And there’s conflicting autopsy reports on Floyd. Surely the fentanyl and other drugs weren’t a contributing factor. The Taylor case was unfortunate but they didn’t pick her home at random to serve a warrant. Some reforms should happen but stop acting like the vast majority of these instances aren’t justified. Not sure if it’s a cultural issue or generational issue but there’s definitely an epidemic of blatant disregard for laws and law enforcement. When every incident results in an opportunity to loot, riot, murder, and destroy its hard to take seriously or even care when there’s a legitimate issue. Of course when there is a legitimate issue it’s handled but it’s still never enough.

You should not take it as an apology. I do take responsibility for my actions, and you should demand that people who were wrongfully killed by the government be responsible for their actions.

This might seriously be the dumbest thing I have read in a long time and shows just how uninformed you are. The man with Breanna Taylor did not know he was shooting at cops. Neither he or Breanna Taylor were committing a crime. They heard someone breaking into the home and decided to protect themselves. They did not know they were cops. The cops wrongfully thought they were in the correct place looking for someone who was never, ever there. I suspect if this happened to someone in your family you would want justice or believe it was justifiable for them to shot the person who entered their home unannounced. This is why no knock warrants are bad. I mean just learn the facts first.

Were they brought before a grand jury in the Taylor case ? Did the justice system work as it was supposed to work ? If the masses don’t agree with LEO procedures then change them but protesting and saying you want justice and for the cops to be charged with murder when they are being shot at while serving a warrant, won’t happen . The governor , the AG , and the grand jury all agree on this .

I understand your perspective. But I don't care how much drugs George Floyd had in his system. He was restrained and no longer a threat to anyone. There was no need to kneel on his neck which was the cause of his death. Take away that event and George Floyd is alive to day. Maybe in jail, maybe not, but what he did was not a capital crime. You are correct, Breanna Taylor was not picked at random. She was recklessly selected and a reckless amount of force was used with a no knock warrant. I do agree that rioting is never the answer, but at some point frustration takes over. In this thread Colin Kaepernick and LeBron James were made fun of, repeatedly. All they did was make a peaceful protests along with a number of other athletes, politicians and celebrities. They were met with disdain, disgust, disbelief and skepticism. So when you ridicule and ignore the peaceful protest, one can expect a more angry one.
