Let's not forget the brands of Christianity that had no problem with lynching blacks, persecuting jews in Europe from the middle ages up and into the Industrial Age, and the many racist extremist groups that invoke the name of the Christian god even now.

I know, I know, "b-but, they're not really Christians!" They say the same about you.

Sure... there are crazy people everywhere. But relative to what is taught and written in the comparative "words", seems to me there's a BIG difference between the Bible and the Qur'an.

He knows this...he is just stirring the pot.

Shall we discuss Leviticus 25:44-46?

Numbers 31?

Samuel 15: 2-3?

Deuteronomy 13:6-16?

Sure, one can speak of context. But one could do the same for the Quran, could they not?

jesus was a military leader? or are you arguing that the jews are violent too since they use the old testament as doctrine?

Shall we discuss Christianity (e.g. the New Testament)?

If the comparison was between Christians and Muslims why are you referencing the Old Testament?

Wow, christians are not creationists and do not revere the 10 commandments. What an illuminating day!

We can stick to the new testament, then. Beat any children today?

Leviticus......... start as verse 39 and the passage is about a hebrew being in debt and go to verse 55 and it is about freeing a hebrew slave from a foreigner.

Numbers...... the war with Midian........ part of the conquest of the promised land...... I guess one could take it as a rallying cry for starting a militia and killing folks......... I guess we would have to define the promised land.

Samuel...... I guess you are referring to 1 Sam..... The Amalekites are mentioned also in Exodus 17 and Deut 25. Again, the conquest of the promised land......

Deut..... The punishment code???????????

Whether they want to admit it or not, belief in Christianity (just like every other religion) is buffet style. People pick and choose what they actually consider to be good in the Good Book. It has nothing to do with being the infallible word of God. Scripture of any kind can be interpreted for good and bad.

Who said infallible? It has man's hands all over it.

Luke 19 is a parable told by Jesus. Mark 7:9 says: "9 He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition."

All too fitting, if you ask me. Yet, it doesn't even come close to mentioning killing anyone

Ask our friends justin or t-town. They will make some reference to christianity being different than man-made religion, but when all else fails, go by what the Bible says.

I'm still chewing on that to figure it out.

You forget, those aren't real Christians, while all Muslims can be nicely grouped into the same stereotype. :ermm:

It isn't about individuals, it is about the nature of islam itself and what it teaches.

Can you give me the name of one of the "racist extremist groups that invoke the name of the Christian god even now."

Islam has made war against non-muslim for fourteen hundred years and was responsible for the genocide of over ten million people just in the twentieth century, without even counting the six million Jews killed an action in which it was actively and enthusiastically involved.

This is about establishing the new covenant and also about the Pharisees being more concerned with the law and the process than the heart.

"For Abraham says," means nothing to you, though
