What is mediocre? You keep saying the same thing and it’s just an opinion. They beat every team on their schedule, a schedule that was tougher than the mighty SEC champs or Big 10 champs schedules.Mediocrity and lost the biggest game. Not sure earned is the appropriate term. Media manipulation would be accurate based on schedule and results.
I don’t think anything outside of raising your hand that these are the teams we want make sense. Believe what happens on the field gets you in the conversation after that it comes done to humans being humans. You think that makes a difference? Playing LSU in Death Valley in a night game? The LSU that was just in the SEC Championship game whether they deserved it or not?
They had to win the 3 of the last 4 games (2 against top 10 teams) to make a bowl. Tell me with 5 weeks left in the season and 5 wins you thought USC would be 8-4......
They were 5-3 with games against US, Clemson, Florida, and Vandy......
I admire the amount of optimism this board has had since the South Carolina loss, but there is a 0% chance we make the Final 4 today. Like, I doubt our name even came up in conversation during the deliberations this week.
Well if that's the case then the South Carolina game solidified that.
I see people say this a lot. When Tennessee dropped though we dropped from the top undefeated team to become the top 1 loss team, we dropped 4 spots because there were still 4 undefeated teams at the time. The difference here is TCU had a 2 loss cushion, they may fall behind OSU, but they still have one less loss than us or bamaWe dropped 4 spots after losing to UGA, #1 ranked team in polls. Even in a championship game loss there should be criteria of 2-3 spot drop. If you don’t drop them there’s no reason for the playoff rankings. A loss is a loss
I said HAD they lost they would’ve still be in, as would have Michigan. The same standard should apply to TCU when they actually would’ve achieved their results against better competition. Their best win is against a top 10 Kansas State team earlier this year. The same Kansas State team that beat them by a FG in OT.What is their best win? “SEC champs” didn’t lose, so not all things are equal.
So they’re barely bowl eligible because they weren’t bowl eligible after only 8 games? Interesting take. They had to win the 3 of the last 4 games (2 against top 10 teams) to make a bowl. Tell me with 5 weeks left in the season and 5 wins you thought USC would be 8-4......

Don’t bring nuance into this. The standard is to drop 4 spots no matter what!I see people say this a lot. The difference here is TCU had a 2 loss cushion, they may fall behind OSU, but they still have one less loss than us or bama

So extra time needed to lose to a team they beat earlier. Better than average team much like Ole Miss but not one of the best teams.I said HAD they lost they would’ve still be in, as would have Michigan.
