What a disaster...

Turned into a pretty terrible coaching search for Penn State and Vanderbilt is screwed either way

How could Vanderbilt even take the guy back if that were to be the case? The fans have turned on him. I can't imagine the players would trust him. You'd assume he'd just leave next year anyways. If I was Vanderbilt and Penn State ended up rejecting him... I think I'd fire him.

ESPN is reporting that PSU has scheduled a conference for 1/11/14 4pm. To announce major news. Rumors are 4.5 mil a year deal. Vandy isn't even in the same ballpark donor wise as PSU. I understand all major colleges have donors with deep pockets. Although PSU has much better backing than Vandy ever though of having.

I agree... Those endowments may be restricted to academics or medical research only though. Just because they have over 3 billion in endowments doesn't mean its an open checkbook for the football team. They have a rich donor base and can afford paying coaches a lot, but they had to allow other sports use the new facilities to get it approved. Vandy will always be an academic first school.

The local sports radio morning crew here in Tampa bay was bashing the Franklin hire today. It suddenly occurred to them that Franklin's team was embroiled in a gang rape case, that he was going to be called to testify in. The host asked the question "Why am I just now hearing about this?" They bashed on the stupidity of PSU hiring Franklin for about 30 minutes. It was great. The national media has (ESPN especially) really dropped the ball in covering the Vandy scandal. I hope Franklin gets raked over the coals now. This is really going to be entertaining..he can't hide behind Vandys obscurity anymore.

Not me.

Almost every Vandy fan on Vandymania is disrespectful. They trash the Vols and our fans at every turn. Annnd, they love seeing us fail and our program fall apart. They take pleasure in trying to kick us while we're down. We're just a bunch of uneducated, redneck trash to them and they're a bunch of geniuses that are above us. That's how they talk, constantly.

So, yeah... I'm cool with their already pathetic program being torn to pieces. They were the least gracious winners I've ever seen since Franklin arrived. Even Franklin insulted the Vols and our fans. And for that, Vandy can suck it.

I don't recall seeing much negative posts about Vandy until recently. Most Vol fans just didn't think much of them one way or the other and a few would root for Vandy when they're not playing UT. The venom seems to have started with a few self described Vandy fans posting some outrageously venomous stuff here the past few years. At first I think it was mostly ignored because we know that the current state of affairs is a blip on the radar and
excused because we understood that they didn't know how to handle winning having zero experience with it. After awhile it got old and I believe that most of us will now relish watching them return to their rightful place of SEC East whipping boy alongside Kentucky almost as much as they've relished the last 3 seasons.

Its hilarious on vandymania right now. They have scheduled a "star walk" - I guess a crappy version of the Vol Walk this morning at 7:45. They say social media is retweeting the event and its going be huge. They are expecting. ......
