Wishing everyone traveling to the game a safe trip. And cheer our Vols to a victory. I'm watching the game at home. Whole family is coming after the game to celebrate my birthday. I'm looking forward to a special day. We're doing a cookout and sharing some family time.

LET'S GO VOLS!!!!

Freak: Loving the text options for postings. Great job.

I'm having dinner with 2 sisters of one of my best friends. He won't be there, as he has been in jail in a Moscow detention center for almost 600 days now. His name is David Barnes. An ABC executive producer (Jared Kofsky) that interviewed us on 05-17-22 just happens to be rolling in Huntsville and is re-interview us. He is doing a story from Enterprise Alabama and while he was "in the neighborhood" thought he would check on us. If it airs, I'll post a link.

Tomorrow, my youngest (age 26) and I will drive to Nashville and pick up my oldest (28) and head to Nissan Stadium and tailgate with my brother and his family. Go VOLS.

I’ll be at the West v Farragut game tonight. Should be good. my daughter is in the West band. From what I’ve seen so far this season, I expect Farragut will be the first loss for West since 2021.

I’ll be out of town for the Vols. Going to see my other daughter at Miss State. We’re going to go to see the post-Leach Bulldogs. Won’t be the same.

Wow, PT, I just read his story. I am so sorry. What a mess and the US govt can’t ascertain if he is being wrongfully detained?? Good lord. His story sounds so familiar. My husband had a similar situation with his ex, but thank God, she didn’t leave the country. He, too, was awarded full physical and legal custody. We, eventually, actually got custody of the child. Your friend, omg, where is the US govt?????

Getting everything ready for tomorrow. Gonna smoke a Boston butt, and chicken, with some good homemade sides. Gotta get up early to get it going, hit the gym, then back for the game.

Taking my daughter to the game, we go to at least one every season since she first showed an interest in 2020. We live on the AL state line so it’s a much shorter drive for us than Knoxville. I’ll barely sleep tonight, GBMF🍊!

Funny you should ask, and thank you for the nice note. I've been working with David's sisters a lot over the last 19 months. David and I have known each other since first grade, so I grew up with him. We have thrown everything up against the wall and not much is sticking. We communicate with David via his attorney, Gleb who is in Moscow.
A while back, I was hammering the Richardson Center for help. I figured it was a bustling enterprise, and I wasn't getting through to the top. I did email a fellow on their web page and because I cc'd his sister Carol, I got a good response. A two hour zoom meeting entailed and we are pretty sure we have found the right folks to get help. The Richardson center is named for the former governor of New Mexico and consists of really just 3 people. Governor Richardson, Mickey Bergman and one other whose name escapes me. These are the right people for getting him home , and the James Foley foundation. I helped David's sisters write a letter to the secretary of state, guided by the Foley folks. The letter was to get him classified as wrongfully detained (as outlined in the Levinson act). This has happened in the last two months. Now we think things are happening behind the scenes. Google Mickey Berman, that's the guy who we now know is in control and we are very relieved.

If interested here's a link. Very hard to get the State Department's attention, but trying. Probably should have redacted some of this, but David isn't hiding anything.

Letter to Secretary of State

Gotta jump now, meeting the ABC reporter for dinner.

My off topic threads are back for 2023! I know you're all excited. lol

First off, roll call. If you're going to the game, let us know. I especially like to hear how far people are traveling to get there. The dedication some people have to make these long trips is outstanding.

If you're watching from home, do you have any plans? Friends/family coming over? What's on the menu?

What other college games are you looking forward to this weekend? Can any of them top Florida losing to Utah?

Anyone checking out any high school games tonight? I have my eye on Farragut/West and Maryville/Bradley Central.

It's an off topic thread, so feel free to post about whatever is one your mind, sports related or not.

Watching college football on television all weekend while listening to the Tennessee game on the Vol Network.

Hanging at the lake, lots of refreshing Coronas, pigs in a blanket (have them every first game of the season) and babysitting my 10 year old niece while her parents go watch the Hokies. It’s time she understands what real football is. Go Vols!!!

I’ve got football for my boy tomorrow here in Gatlinburg. It’s his first year, he’s a super grass cutter and I ain’t just saying it cuz he’s mine, but he’s a little badass at nose tackle and LT

Plans? Gonna watch him at 10am in the morning, might be a whiskey in the coffee kind of day but it’ll be a peanut butter and coffee mixture. Going to watch our game, then go to a friend of ours and eat burgers, dogs, and wings

As far as other games tomorrow go, I’m looking forward to that USCe/UNC game. Won’t surprise me in the least bit to see the Gamecocks score em a W tomorrow.

We went to the grocery store this morning after I had a doc appointment and we are loaded for bare lol

Thinking of Crown Apple or Crown Peach for tomorrow. Either straight or with some Sweet Tea.

I’m in the middle of nowhere tonight in Burnsville NC watching our high school team take on the Mountain Heritage Cougars. Our team is currently ranked 2nd in the state in 1A with hopes of winning our 15th state championship this year!

My daughter has friends spending the night, so I'm locked up in my bedroom watching football and eating buffalo chicken dip. My wife yelled for me, after I done told them football started, so do not disturb. I responded back, "get behind me satan", I don't think she likes it🤣.

She's a puppy fan, she is the devil for the next few months 😁
