*****Freak's National Signing Day Thread, Live as the commits sign, Feb. 7th, 2018

I'm glad to have him, but where does anyone see him as a 4*?
Joseph Norwood, TN ATH, 6-2, 170
Player Thread: '18 TN ATH Joseph Norwood
Rivals: ★★ (5.4)
247: ★★★ (0.8555), #923 National, #75 ATH, #30 TN

There was an article on 247 this week where they upgraded him to a 4* I believe, unless I'm thinking of the wrong guy. Pretty sure it was him, though.

Edit: College football recruiting: 25 new 4-stars in 247Sports Recruiting Rankings

I may be wrong, but with Norwood just getting the offer today, it may have taken a bit to get the paperwork officially done. I think he's a 4* on 247. Hard to see him being a blueshirt

Absolutely no impact on the kid as a blue shirt except for the things he has already missed out on: in-home visit and official visit.

I used the 247 composite, which lists him as a three-star. The actual 247 ranking shows him as a four-star prospect.

will CJP sign a full class this year and will he be able to carry the open spots open to next year also ?

That's actually a good point. We talk about Blueshirting like it's a bad thing, but as far as I know the only difference is he counts against next year's class instead of this year's.

In the 4pm press, CP commented that they are still looking for opportunities, possible grad transfers, etc. I suspect he will keep his options open as to what year the scholarships are used.

I get the feeling that come Monday we are going to be looking for a DB the same way the Eagles found Papale.

For us, that might be a bad thing, with the expectations for Pruitt's next class.

Well this certainly won’t be a foundation class but it’s not bad considering how badly the school bungled the coaching hire, the bad publicity from that and the time wasted by the previous AD dragging things out just to try and roll out Schiano and then fumbling every attempt and then us finally getting Pruitt, time that could’ve been used building relationships and selling the new coaches vision.

You guys are expecting a top rated class after the crap TN went thru last season. Just be thankful we have a potentially great coach and some decent recruits for him to coach. I for one didn't expect this class to be that outstanding. It's not the best, but definitely not the worst.

Today was a **** day, but the class overall isn't bad. Expecting better than 20th overall after an 0-8 record in the SEC is probably unreasonable.

It’s yet to be determined how successful Pruitt will be just as it’s yet to be determined how successful this recruiting class will be. The decks stacked against both.

Man, following NSD has lead to a really depressing workday. Sucks that we didn't pull a single one of the big names left on the board. I'm certainly not ready to write Pruitt off and there's no denying the fact that he started way behind the 8-ball. But for today, man I'm bummed out.

Today could have been a lot better, it could have been worse. But my question is why all the trolling by these kids towards UT? Are other schools being trolled or are we just a joke to these kids?

This is about my stance on it as well. Sucks but I'm still hopeful moving forward.
