I'm a pastor of a small church in rural North Georgia. The Sunday before Christmas we invite the church to come to "Breakfast at the Parsonage. We usually feed 30-40 people and then go to church.
We have a Christmas Eve church service and then come home and open presents. I believe I have the killer present for my wife this year.
I found a nice computer tote from ebags and inside the tote are a computer, a kindle, every kind of office stuff I can think of. Also got her some other things but she has hinted about the bag and does not know I have it.
I am following an annual holiday tradition for me by not having my wife a gift yet and having no idea what to get her.
That is what is tricky for me. If we want something throughout the year, we generally get it (within reason). For us it is mostly about the kids and my wife would honestly not bat an eye if I got her little to nothing, but the catch is that she is very generous and will likely get me some great presents and then I feel like the heel.Hey, I asked mine and she said I better not spend anything on her. I love that woman.
We usually buy only for the kids. We get what we want throughout the year. We are just thankful for the life we have been given. God has been so good to us. I wish everyone could have what we have. We are not rich but we are happy.

It is not about my wife and her expectations. She is awesome. It is about me feeling like I need to do more because she deserves it.

I hope everyone is getting ready for a great Christmas. Anyone have any pics of gifts, trees or Christmas lights to post?
What about weird traditions?
Personally, I'm pretty traditional. We open presents in the morning and have family over for an early dinner of Turkey and dressing with all the fixins.
Anyway, I wanted to wish everyone here and their families a Merry Christmas. Cherish the time with family and/or friends and make some great new memories that you will never forget.
Thank you all for choosing to hang out with us here at VolNation. We have some great posters and you guys make this place very special.
