I think Scott is a sure RB and young is kind of an explosive player to plug in where needed

If Williams has true track speed, I wonder if he'll be returning kickoffs too? Would love to see a few get housed this year.

If you can show me what Devrin Young has proven to show he's a good third option in his three years on campus then please do. He's proven that he can't at RB. Scott hasn't but he has legit talent at the position. Young doesn't

Key word here is third option. We're not loaded like Bama or UGA at RB yet.

I don't expect this to continue. I think Medley is clearly our best overall kicker!

Is Ellis expected to be our #1 TE? I thought it was Downs or Helm? It's good to have some depth there but didn't expect Ellis to be considered our starting TE at least to begin the season anyhow.

Wolf maybe???

Why clearly? I thought they were both pretty even?

Not that bad for a third stringer, which is what we're squabbling about here. Dude didn't say Young should be the starter, he said he is a fine 3rd back, and I would agree.

If he wasn't i don't think he would have seen as much action as he has in his career.

Fine? No. Adequate for the cards we are playing with right now? I guess.

Either way, it looks like Lane/Hurd will be taking a very large bulk of the carries which is what I've been hoping for since day 1.

If Lane and Hurd are healthy it's not an issue. If they do and you don't have Scott, it will go from a scary situation to a terrifying one.

Exactly. If we're relying on DY at RB we're screwed.

He's a great kid. True VFL. Comes to work every day and busts his backside...

But he simply is not an SEC caliber back. His biggest contributions will come in the return game.

Well in that case, we should just run every down since Lane averages 5 yards per carry. Why throw it when we'll get a first down every other play?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict DY's average ypc this will be higher than his average.

The calculation was simply an example to suggest that his yardage is effective. I realize that for Young in the past his yardage has come from a mix of big gains with being stuffed. Call me crazy but I like Summerhill's running style too. Summerhill seems to always find space and get yardage.
